this poem could be talking just about anyone who helped fight against Mordor - you decide

I made this a long time ago... around New year so please be honest - if you dont like it tell me and exactly what I did that didnt make it good enough

Inspired by the Novel: The Lord of the Rings

Where will thy go when all is done-
When kingdoms of evil have vanished?
The land is free and on swift wings you fly

Prosperity shines on your face
As the Luminary lights of day appear
Fair voices rejoice as you walk through their land

The Great eye has stolen lives of your Assemblage
The heart aches for those who were lost
But hope runs through your veins as you grieve

Forever will the heroic souls be remembered
As this age draws near to the end
And all is peaceful in the lands of Middle Earth

I must warn you - I'm a complete novice at writing poems about Middle Earth...I'm used to writing poems about his time in age

I like this I think, it reminds me of another poet I have read, I forget which one.

It is interesting in that it makes me think of the peple who would have dedicated their lives to fighting Sauron, and then when he was gone, be left without a goal in some ways.

You know a bit empty, the way many soldiers end up after a long war.........need to think more about it.

Good stuff though, thanks for sharing it with us.

Yes indeed Fatty it makes me feel the same way and i like it very much A!Elbereth.
it arises the question "Okay so the war is finally over. now that the lands are free what will we do when we have spent our youth [well youth maybe. but more like "a lot of time"] fighting?"
It's about a new beginning in some way also.
I know this is off topic but it reminds me of the victory of Russia over The Nazi in the second world war.

GOOD WORK MAN !!!

Yip keep it up, but remember the forum is very new, with few members really, so often it takes a while for poeple to read them. We are all in different tim ezones too. So I might post something now, at 1am my time, you might reply, but I wont get back to reply until tomorrow afternoon as off to sleep. Worth bearing in mind, at least until the membership increases, which it is!!!! :-)
