I just watched this film on telly a minute ago out of curiosity because Elijah Wood was in one of the lead roles. It was made in 1994 so he must have been about 13 and did look very young. Anyway, I don't know how many of you have seen it but i actually couldn't turn away. Kevin Costner's character is a vietnam verteran back from fighting and he now has the problem of his son (Wood) fighting his own war with rival kids in the area. I won't go into too much detail but who else, who have seen it, really hated those bullys. They just wouldn't leave them alone.

Oh RB! Where did you find it? I'd heard that Elijah (who was thirteen) gave an incredible performance, and I've been wanting to see it as I'm interested in his acting..... I've looked everywhere!

Yeah, I only watched it to see how he acted in it and his performance really was incredible. It's a bit of a tearjerker film but seeing Elijah as a young kid giving one of his best performances made it well worth watching. Here's some info on the film http://us.imdb.com/Title?0111667

Well? Did ya'll see it?!
I've seen this one too and Mr. Wood just blew me away. His talent as an actor is incredible. He is also very good at accents, he's done an amazing job with the southern American one he uses for this and also with the earlier 'Huck Finn' film. Loved that one too.

Really glad y'all liked this one (even if y'all is misspelled ;) )....really an excellent movie, one of the few Costner flicks that truly delivers on the promise. Wood has an great breakthrough...the talent is just unbelievable.

Elijah Wood was very lucky to have made the break from child actor to adult actor. I think he said it himself in one of his interviews.
