My mum has a picture of the interior of Bag End, signed by Sir Ian, a card with Haldir on it, signed by the actor who plays Haldir, and a picture of the two wizards, signed by Sir Ian and Christopher Lee.
My sister has a signed Orlando Bloom picture.

Well, yes LD they are actually!

All you have to do is watch the news on the main, the cast, crew, even PJ himself holds signing events all over the world and they usually do a bunch of them during the last few months before the movie release date.

All you really have to do, is find out when and where, then be prepared to stand in line! lol

To date, I've gotten the Official Movie Guide signed by PJ, Phillipa Boyens, Sean Asnin, and Fran Walsh. I also got the FotR soundtrack signed by Sir Ian!

These events are a whole lot of fun! I encourage you to try and get one if you get the chance!

Galadriel and I just sent some fan letters to the 4 hobbits and Orlando Bloom, also asking them for their autograph. We also wanted autographs of the cast, and while looking on some of their sites found out that that was sometimes the way to go if you couldn't go to signings or w/e. for example, I went to Billyboyd.net and it had directions on sending him fan mail and getting an autograph - said to request it and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope and even gave you the size and weight! So, that's what we did for the people we sent them too... I'll post back here and tell you if it works :)

Unfortunately, love_aragorn, we wanted his autograph too, but when we checked his site he said that he gets so many letters and likes to personally reply to each of them, and doesn't want other people to answer for him, that it's just taking up too much of his time. :( so, he's not taking anymore mail requests. You can get an Autograph of him if you see him some time like at a signing or Premier or something, but that's about it. No mail... mecry
As for Galadriel and I and our attempt at getting Autographs, so far we've only gotten Billy Boyd's and Sean Astin's was sent back stamped, "Return to sender. Not at this agency." But then we found out that to get Sean's autograph, just go to his website, scroll all the way down to the bottom and there's a link to more links... just follow them. We still have gotten nothing back from the other 3 people, but are still waiting. We're so glad that we at least got Billy's! :thumbs:

um, jkust a question, maybe its just me, b ut whats the point of having something signed if you didnt meet the person. i dunno, when i get someones signature, i get it as like a memory of when i met them, so gettign some **** signed from someone you never met, to me, is pointless, unless yer gonna sell it. im not bashign anyone for doing so, im jus wondering why you all want signatures if you didnt meet them.

Same here. Well, i don't live in Sweden, but i'm most-likely never going to meet them. Then, secondly, my friend and I are making these scrapbook type of things with various LotR "stuff" in it (like news articles and photos) So, like we did with Billy's picture, is we made a certain page titled "Billy Boyd" and then wrote some stuff about him and his role as Peregrin Took. So, we want to have a page for each major character and hope to get a signed picture of them to go with it.

hehe thanks! i actually got the idea from my friend's mom - who's not even a big LotR fan (go figure! lol)! But they look awesome so far! We've got a page for ticket stubs and several "friends" ones - of us dressed up. :) You should try it! it's a lot of fun to make too! :thumbs:

The reason that we (Hobbitfriend and myself) worte to the acors asking for an autograph was because our chances of maeeting any of them is slim unless we make it to the ROTK premir which must ly won't happen. Plus we are amking a scrapbook which is coming out good so far. :thumbs:

well we really don't have many articles from FOTR becasue we never thought about making a scrapbook back then plus I really didn't even find out about LOTR till the summer. So our srapbboks mainly contain stuff about TTT and anything we might have saved from FOTR.

But really back on topic now... i heard someone got a signed pic from the guy who plays Haldir (...forgot his real name :blush: don't trout me!) But i looked at their site where they had the picture... very nice ;) I actually would never have thought of getting an autograph from him, since he isn't a major character, but he even wrote an appology note, since he sent the autograph 3 months after the request was sent. I thought that was very nice and considerate :thumbs:

There are a millo address sites out there. just type in Orlando Bloom address and see what you get. I am sure you will find something. But if you do do the mailing thing so not be suprise if you don't something back right away. I sent mine out over a month ago and havn't got anything back yet.

I haven't gotten anything back from Orlando yet either and my friend and I sent out the letters over a year ago now. He's probably just very busy with all his new movies and all and gets swamped with fan mail.

From the letters, Sean Astin's got sent back because I had sent it to the wrong address, and I didn't get a very good picture of Dom... i'd suggest sending your own picture and asking him to sign it and send it back. You'd probably have a better chance of getting an autograph that way (I wish i'd thought of that before).

But like I said earlier, I got one from Billy and one from Elijah, then got personal signatures from Bruce Hopkins, Craig Parker, and Mark Ferguson when I went to The Gathering party in Toronto this past December.

it took me several months to just get Elijah's autograph, 2ndBreakfast, and since the actors are pretty busy, i'd give them time and not worry. As for the addresses I sent them to... I don't remember... I did have them all written down on one sheet of paper, but that's long gone now. All I did was Googled their names and tried to find a website, such as the actor's personal website, or another site that seemed like it would have the correct information. As far as I know, the only one that i sent to the wrong address was Sean Astin's. But I haven't gotten anything back from Orlando, so I don't know if it just didn't get there or if he just hasn't replied.

Billy's signature was real. Whether or not it was actually him who signed it or someone else, you'll never know. It only took about three weeks or so (maybe a month) to get it back from him at the time I sent it. I had gotten the address directly from his official website (www.billyboyd.net) but they've changed the whole layout of the site, and unfortunately, it's not listed there anymore. :huh:

I met Craig Parker, Mark Ferguson (Gil-Galad), and Bruce Hopkins (Gamling) in person, so they signed it right there in front of me :p

Sean's, like i said, didn't even get to him because i had apparently sent it to the wrong address.

I haven't gotten one back from Orlando, and Dom just sent a photocopy that I could barely even make out what it was at first (i should have sent him my own photo to have him sign instead).

I have Viggo's, Billy's, David's and Ian Holm's autographs. I wrote to Viggo right before he posted that message and got back a personally signed card, and i wrote to Billy with the address that was on his site and he personally signed a picture for me. And i got David's and Ian's from TOPPs cards.


Aside from LOTR ones, i also have 8 pictures all personally signed by Keira Knightly(POTC), three by Ewan McGregor, and 4 things signed by Mariah Carey.

I wrote to her, look around in her fan sites, they should post contact addresses. Use the ones that go to British address though, in case there are more than one. And if you want and autograph back send an SASE with it. And if you send your own pictures, the better chance of getting them back personally signed. She is on the cover of Vanity Fair right now, and there are some nice pics in there to get signed.

So far, the only cast member I have met is Craig Parker (Haldir). However, I plan to attend the Master of the Rings in Manchester in October, so will meet several more there. Actually, I did go to see Sean Astin, but couldn't stay for the autograph session, alas.

However, Craig Parker is absolutely the most devastatingly charming man in the world - sweet, funny, unpretentious, a bit wicked, sensitive, witty, mischievious, adorable. His smile lights up a room, his dark blue-gray eyes twinkle with starlight, and his voice is like velvet. Not to mention the fact that he is drop-dead gorgeous and very, very cuddly! :blush:

I have three signed photos and a signed T-Shirt. He was very willing to not only personalize each one, but even added lines from the films when I requested them. Truly a divine gentleman. :love:

I was a Dealer at Dragon*Con this weekend (a huge Scifi/Fantasy convention in Atlanta, Georgia.) and I was able to get some hugs and exchange witty banter with Craig Parker (Haldir), I must say he is a sweetie and a very nice person. On the last day, I brought my kids over to meet him and he got down on a knee and talked with them and gave them each two signed pictures of him as Haldir. Too cool! :whoohoo: :whoohoo:

I bought an Elijah Wood autographed picture when I went to Toronto this year. I recieved a Certificate of Guarantee with it. I also bought Luvara a Viggo one as a birthday present :)


I've been toying with the idea of sending letters to certain actors with the required stuff in order to get an autograph (like the self adressed stamped envelope and sending the picture of my choice and such) but I don't know if I'll get a reply or not. Guess I'll just send them and forget about them until I get a reply...

I have Miranda Otto's autographed Topps Two Towers card and it is pretty awesome. I know on e-bay the actual autographs are pretty pricey, but I've broken down to just buying boxes - a little bit cheaper, in some cases a lot, but the rub is that you have no idea who's auto you're getting! I just received a case of Topps LotR Chrome cards (eight boxes) here's hoping I get at least eight autos!
