well i hope it works. i wont have anything against it if she has a nice singing voice. i know she has a nice speaking voice, but that certainly isnt the same thing....
a curious thing, though: from Lycos Asia Movies
The actress sings a tune in elfish in the final installment
from United Press International Entertainment Today
Tyler wouldn't say much about the song other than it is in English, not one of Tolkien's made-up languages.besides the fact that the first one can't spell elvish, and the second doesnt give much for these 'made up languages', what do you make of this?

I will give her the benefit of the doubt. Her dad's a musican, she grew up around them and according to one interview she used to sit in her room, I think with a guitar, and sing to herself. She wouldn't be doing this if she didn't have some degree of talent.

Hopefully it won't end up like a second Kelly Osbourne ;) lol

Yeah, I noticed the disparity between the UPI and the Asian Movie report too. I'll snuff around some more to see if I can locate some 'facts'. But, I would expect that since she is an elf . . that she may sing in elvish . . or, perhaps a bit of both (like Enya).

If she can sing yes... but if it's another Kelly Osbourne... urmm... get outta my head... Not that I have much against both gals in mention, but you know, I'm beginning to think that most Asians have lousy taste in music... MTV Asia's been airing her stuff for a while.
If she can sing, yes, please do so, if not, please throw her out the window.

Like stated by Elfdream, her dad is a musician and he has been in the business for a long time. So if anything, he'll know how to get it tweaked enough where if she really can't sing, then the whole sound of it all will be so drastically changed that we'll never know it.

well for a start, her father has nothing to do with it........for another, just being raised around musicians means nothing either.....i certainly hope she can sing........and actually i think Steve Tyler has a nice singing voice.........just hope his daughter sings better than she acts is all:rolleyes: :naughty: ;)

i think maybe she has a good voice or else I guess they wouldn't have her n the soundtrack.. just look at the other singers Enya and Emiliana Tomini both great voices and so I think it'll work

i reckon she'll have a gr8 voice - peter jackson wouldn't have her singing a song for the soundtrack if it was anything less. go liv! :)

Why do some people hate Liv? I think she's nice :) But then again, i'm kinda dumb and naive, so what do i know.

hmmmm I think that if Liv was able to sing decently shed be singing already... with her fathers conncetions and so on... shed at least sing a bit here and there for popularity... and as we have never (for what I know) heard her singing... it means she cant at all... IMO
btw i'd say all this news for Liv singing... there was a thread on that even some time ago... it's just publicity I think... we wont hear her sing anything dont worry :p
I like Liv... she makes a horrible Arwen tho...

no, i really like her as arwen, and especially after watching some of her older films, i think she's a very talented, lovely actress. just 'cos her dad's steven tyler, doesn't automatically mean she should be a singer - stella mccartney anyone???? - not everyone with a famous parent follows in their footsteps with their choice of career.
liv HAS actually sung a teeny weeny weeny little bit in her movie 'empire records'. and she sounds quite good to me. go liv!

that would justified her salary.
I'd rather prefer her singing than killing orcs at pelennor's battle:naughty:

Here, here Altariel. Atleast there's the hope that she can sing. But she shouldn't be at Pelennor  So if the only way to justify her salary is to have her sing then okay...not all the singing parts on the TTT Soundtrack were very long. Only the one over the end credits. And i suppose there it doesn't effect the emotional context of the film so much (if thats where she's singing). Maybe if its not up to scratch they'lll put it on the SEE-DVD  And I have to agree with ArwenU. there that maybe she can sing and the reason we've not heard her before is that she's spent time doing other things ...has other priorities. I don't want to get worried or stressed over this now.
This was apparently written up in a magazine called 'Cineworld':
Q. You shot the trilogy a few years ago. What have you carried forward with you since that experience ended?
Liv: "The thing that I don't think everybody understands is that we're still working on it. I can't tell you much work I've done on it in this year [2002] alone! We went to New Zealand for a month this summer and did pickups. We shot all sorts of new scenes - it was like shooting another movie all over again, and that was just for film two. And I just came back from London, where I spent two weeks recording a song for the soundtrack. I'd been working for a voice teacher for five months on that. Plus, we just completed all the post-production looping and voice overs."
5mo with a voice teacher sounds promising atleast
