Some questions and suggestions

I have a whole lot of them, and sorry for dragging up old things, but I couldn't find consistent answers for all of these points.

a) Why the avatar restriction? I can understand if the server has limited space, and you don't want to bog it by letting us upload our own avatars. But could it be possible to at least host the avatars on space outside of war of the ring? As in having a space in the options to put an URL for the avatar. I find it really difficult to tell people apart now, since so many have the same avatar or none. I'm very bad with names, and my identification of people on forums is based entirely on avatars...

b) Why can't we use vbulletin code in the sigs? Since the avatar choice is so restricted, at least allowing some kind of personalisation of sigs wit vbulletin code would be nice, such as [color=red][/color). I don't really see any rational reason for why we can't have colours in our sigs, that would make it easier to tell them apart.

c) Why can only a select few post images on the forum? On the picture threads, it looks much neater when you can post the images on the forum, as opposed to posting links. Since this is a site dedicated to the LotR movies after all, and pics from them play a big part in the discussion here, it would make sense if the users could post them too.

as for the second: long involved flashy sigs are insanely annoying and i enable the option 'hide users signatures' in every forum that allows those sort of sigs. the point of forums is the discussion, not the obscuring insanity that results from having no limits on sigs. such restraint was half the reason i decided to join up here. ;)
if i indentified users by their sigs im sure i would have an entirely different opinion, so im sure you must have a point, even if i dont entirely agree.

and the third... images are messy and annoying when theres too many. about posting images, it isnt the user but the particular thread that detirmines when images can and cant be posted :grin:
plus theres a lot of pics i dont want to link to! its nice to be able to have that choice :)

Yes, Tar is correct! lol...

There are a couple of forums that allow image posting, and the posting option is available to all users, the Art forum is one, and I believe that the Movie forums are the others.

As far as avatars, we should be adding more sometime in the not too distant future. We have quite a few to choose from and the choices become more and more as your post counts increase. The thing I've noticed is that some folks find one that they like when there is only a few available, and then keep them, not knowing that more are available.

Now as to the VB code in the signatures, we tried that when we first opened, but it was really really messy. It is something that we may consider in the future, but the staff and I will need to get together and discuss it.
