I wonder if anyone here has ever read the Otherland series by Tad Williams? They are my absolute FAVORITE books! (Other than Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and, of course, LotR. ;) ) If there are any quasi-futuristic wry British sci-fi fans out there, you should give it a read! They're really fantasic!!

No, actually... After I read "Otherland" my mom and sister went nuts lobbing books at my head for me to read, so I have to clear off some of my current reading list before I can attack some more Tad Williams. They did seem to outlive thier welcome after a dozen chapters or so of "whole new world, scary men in world, run away from scary men." They're still brilliant, though. ^^

lol yeah i think he may have overstated his case a bit there lol.......but the triumph of the books is that in spite of that, you keep reading......he does hook you in...........and yeah id def read more of his if you can get them......well worth it....his others arent cyber punk like otherland.......memory sorrow and thorn is heroic fantasy.
