Rising up from mountain stream
comes a sound so sweet and clear
The fairest voice in Elvendom
for those who wish to hear

The lovely, lively Nimrodel
with her waters icy cold
She sings a song of yesterday
and heals the travellers weary soul

There dancing lightly down the hills
through forests deep and green
She comes unto the Golden Wood
still flowing swift and clean

Beneath a rainbow in the mist
by the falls of Nimrodel
If you listen, you may hear her sing
and a tale to you she'll tell

She tells you of her forest bower
where no man now may roam
And of her love who was borne away
across the breaking foam

She seeks him ever on her way
as flowing fleet and fair
The Celebrant she runs to meet
tripping lightly down the crystal stair

Then passing on her merry way
clear Celebrant does flow
To meet and marry Anduin the Great
in waters vast below

And from the South come voices
of the Sea when breezes blow
There Amroth's calling, seeking
for his love lost long ago

Amid the waters of Anduin
his voice comes singing still
And searching to the Celebrant
he finds his Nimrodel

The swirling winds their voices blend
in lovers' language clear as bells
As Nimrodel and Amroth meet at last
and there embrace within the rising swells

Then singing, laughing Southward go
their mingled voices on their way
And pass beyond the River great
into the Seaward waters of the Bay

Within the Bay of Belfalas
these lovers arm in arm do twirl
And heading out to Sea at last
together pass beyond the confines of the world

Thank you both! I know it's a bit long, but I guess it's as long as it has to be to tell the tale; I'm glad you can' feel 'the rhythym; take care!

Yes, the rhythym is wonderful, and the light words and aliteration, all serve to create the lovely dancing Nimrodel.
I really like this poem!

Hantale, Nessa! I'm glad you've enjoyed it! The rhthym of a poem is really very important to me; when I read others' poems if the rythym doesn't catch my heart, it has lost something. It's like music; it reaches the soul like no other thing can, though we don't know why; the rhythym just speaks to our souls. I try to capture that feeling with my poems, though my attempts are far from perfect.
Anyway, many thanks Nessa; good to see you!
