Fan Fiction Section

The Fan Fiction Section on the main page is almost complete. We have the basics set up as well as the format for submitting writting, updating chapters etc.

As of right now, we are waiting for two things:

1) Moderators

We need at least one if not more moderators to run the section. The section will not go up utill we do find a moderator to maintain this section. Descriptions of the position and application materials can be found Here (http://warofthering.net/vacancies.shtml)

2) Ideas

As of right now, we have four basic sections: Tolkien Fan FIc, SciFi fan fic, Non-Tolkien fan fic and Misc. What suggestions do you have for different sections? Should we break down the Tolkien section into more areas? Tell us what you think

Well, I gave Fatty my ideas, but I will say something.

From experience in seeing many fan fiction sections and submitting into them, it would be wise to split the Tolkien areas into more sections, because there is a good chance that will be most popular. (I shall be putting a few things in there ;))

I agree with you on that one. Do you have any ideas as to what you would like to see for sub-sections?

Now you are welcome to register and submit stories, or at least try it out.

It is not quite finished in that there will be a front page with highlighted story etc, also the guidelines need to be written and such. But you get the idea of how it will work.

You can submit chapter by chapter, choose whether others can add to your story, review stories, recommend them etc.

Have a gander and see what you think so far. Recommendations for categories or whatever else you can think of are welcome, just reply in here or contact me direct.

Oh glad you liek ti so far too, any ideas for what shold be on the main page of the section just holler.

I figured highlight a certain story etc. Myabe soem story comps once established.

Orc, what is put up now was what I already suggested to Fatty, so I don't see anything else you could put besdies maybe a drama section.

Ah great, well there is a slight probelm with emails with special characters in them ike - , I wil resolve this tomorrow, it prevents registration.

For those who get in, if you thinkt he categories are ok let me know and you can start posting. If not then suggest changes or additons in here.

We have a couple of folks interested in modding and admining it and I will get them trained up i the admin.

Looking forward to seeing them all. I fyou think the format is not much better than the forum and know of a better script either retail or free, let me know and we may purchase/aquire and install it instead.

I also had the same problem as Tar with my email address, but i don't know if the problem has been solved yet so i'm not worrying! lol

Ok hmm, it seems I cannot alter it. I may look for another solution to a final home for fanfic, this one is ok but not very attractive really.........

Hmm well it could be used for that but maybe a bit clumsy, I will look for a rpg solution or engine, perhaps we could run an online rpg or such. I dunno we are up to our eyes in new scripts and program at the moment and overhalling all the photos and downloads.

So now is a good time for us to add such things I guess. I will take a look around and see.

I shall put up a few links to what we are developing shortly. I will also either finsh the present fanfic section this weekend or get a new solution. I do quite like it but the links are so small and final when readin stories a bit amateur. Hmm I will get back soon :)
