Its January - over 11 months to go, and its spoilers abound already for ROTK. Anybody trying to stay spoiler free this time, or is it just me?? I did manage it for the most part for TTT, but I thinkits gonna be soooo much harder this time.

So, whos staying spoiler free?

(ps if you put a thread on here, please make sure you put spoilers in the title, if it contains any - ta muchly:thumbs: )

Ah Daisy I think I'm going to join you on that except for the trailers and the odd pic. I think I want to avoid the finer details and even rumours this time round. I knew far more about TTT before it came out than I did for FOTR. I think knowing less about what they've done with the movie (even thought i know the book ... its different) might be better. I already know enough about whats been filmed for this one. Also it avoids being dissappointed when you think a scene that has been filmed is going to be in there (i.e., Eowyn vs the Urak-Hai in the caves) and its not. This way I consider anything a possibility. i prefer to go in a little more open. Maybe we should start up the "ROTK-Spoiler Free Support Group" (the SFSG hehehe) to help resist those little temptations especially if you want to keep coming to WOTRn - in here its sooooooo tempting ;)

Well I'm Reading The Book So I guess That Sort Of Spoils The Ending Doesn't It? But I Haven't And Won't Read Any Of The Spoilers Provided In The Forums!

Larfirith, I think Gatsby started a support group for TTT, but we could start the ROTK branch of it:grin:
OBsession, yep reading the books has kinda spolied the ending, but what I'm gonna avoid is the "X is in the film, Y isn't" kind of thing. (ps could you not cap. the first letter of every word, please, thanks:grin: )

I am with you there. I haven't seen any yet, right now I want to avoid them, but it is a large franchise, I don't think that is gonna be possible....

I'll sign up, I found TTT much more enjoyable at the Theatre than FotR, mainly because I didn't know the detail. Likewise the SE version of FotR was more enjoyable because I had no idea what the extra scenes would be.

"Spoliers" are appropriately named.

I would try but fail miserably lol ;)

Like I said in another thread, I'm gonna look at spoilers up until a month or two before when we start seeing really bad stuff. I did this for TTT, and it really wasn't spoiled too badly for me!

Actually, some of the most disappointing spoilers came from the trailers. Like, that one shot of Isengard or the ladders at Helm's Deep - remember how cool they were when we saw them in the trailers? Then at the movie I'm like "bleh, whatever, that shot again." So here's what I *do* vow to do - not watch the trailers 40 kajilion times!!

Is 30 kajilion times acceptable?

hey, OBsession, what chapter are you at?

I remember that i saw the TTT trailer for hours! i would just let it roll... One of the best trailers ever. The Requiem music really adds to it!

I'll try to stay spoiler free, but i don't think i can do it :)

Chapter seven (Helms Deep), The Two Towers. It's really good. But the storyline is a bit off from the movie but TTT is so good that it doesn't really bother me. I'm still trying to find time to keep reading!

I would have read more but I'm a sucker for tennis and cause channel seven is showing full coverage of the Australian open I can't stop watching! Especially last night - I was still watching it at 12:30am cause Andy Roddick was playing (he's so cute).

i stayed mostly spoiler free for ttt except for reading about arwen's vision of the future and standing at aragorn's grave, and seeing a pic of the oliphaunts and gollum. i was quite proud of myself! and i fully intend to stay completely spoiler free for rotk. i'll just die if i know what happens in advance. it's funny 'cos these films are the only ones i have ever been enthusiastic about staying spoiler free for!

I suppose!:)

I was bad again last night - I only read one chapter! I was at the gym all day then I watched tennis so I didn't read much - I feel real bad!

Hey don't worry about - my bad habit is forgetting to cap at all!! Too lazy to press the shift key, although I am getting better, as you can tell - I suppose I can't be an english teacher if i don't grammer correctly lol

Didn't realise you were an aussie - I haven't really watched much of the tennis - I'm not that big a fan plus we get a rubbish signal on channel 7 so it makes it hard tp follow whats going on. I am rooting for Leyton though :)

Anyway, back to the topic, I was really good for TTT - didn't see one pic of the ents, or gollum. I have though, read abit on ROTK - mainly from AICN - Harry Knowles went to NZ for the last few days of filming and wrote a diary - its not spoilers if you've read the book, but if you havn't it will.

Shift key? Oh I understand now. Ok well I press Capslock everytime - another habit!
And is being an Aussie bad?:mmmm: Yeah I suppose I wanna Leyton win - But I really wanna see Andy Win - He is so cute - and his games are really exciting! - Watching him abuse umpires!

Anyway I didn't know anything about ents until I saw the movie! I only saw gollum - a trailer on tv so I couldn't help it! But I mean if it comes on tv it's gonna be hard to turn your head away - Orli on screen and not seein it is like a bad dream for me! lol

yeh british ppl are always and will always be perceived by aussies as whinging poms. being a UK inhabitant, i actually find it quite amusing. mind u, considering how there is nothing good about the UK, it's hardly surprising that we whinge. we've got a lot to whinge about... oops, there i go again! lol lol

Actually if you wanna know the truth - Kiwi's are more annoying, well the ones I've met anyway. The whinge about how Australians speak, the weather, the shops, the clothes we wear and they whinge about insects and creepy crawlies! Especailly Matt and Nathan.

I am one person who likes spoilers as I find it to be very interesting to look out for them in the movie proper. I read more spoilers before watching TTT than I did FOTR and I found this to be a very enjoyable experience when watching the movie proper.

The power of the trailers is too great I'm afraid. I'll skip detailed spoiler reviews like I did this time.
