To The Havens


weight of all that I bear
Lies heavy in my heart
It has torn my soul to pieces
Broken life in whole apart
Simple words they can not say
What it is I truly feel
I have been hurt all too deeply
The wound will never fully heal

You yourself you can not be
Forever torn in two
You have to be one and whole
For this is something I must do
Our friendship will forever last
Yet often it must be so
To leave all those we love behind
And on a different rode to go

It is time for me to sail away
Across this endless sea of despair
To have my moments all alone
And someday find my healing there
Yet when the hour finally comes
When you sail this way my friend
My days will be whole once more
When you are by my side again

That is sooo good Ladyofbree!!
So much feeling, sadness and yet hope...which makes it all the more sad mecry

It could almost go with Elentari's poem 'Testimony' which is Sam's view.

I love this poem... you write very well, your fics, and poetry too it seems :) are very wonderfully done. its right on as regards emotions, and the words flow very well :)

What beauty and sorrow are contained within your words! This is wonderful! Nessa said it; I have written of the parting from Sam's view; thank you for showing us some of what is in Frodo's heart!

That was beautiful! I've always loved The Havens, and poems about them are always wonderful. I treasure the last two lines.
