I've been wondering if any of you still listen to LPs. I have a record player in my room, and I listen to it with big speakers! :naughty:
I prefer analog sound more than digital audio (such as CD) because of its sound. An LP's sound quality is pure and great! All this is mostly influence from my father, who is a composer.
Well, does anyone still listen to them besides me?

Hehehehe.....

Not only do I listen to vinyl, I LOVE MY VINYL!!!

I used to be a DJ, and as such have a modest collection I must say. lol

I've got Bela Legosi's Dead from Bauhaus on a picture disk that glows in the dark. There's my favourite Red Lorry Yellow Lorry album that's see through yellow. Some of my favourites I've got 12 inch singles of, and quite a few of them signed as well!

I guess I'm considered "old school", but as I said, I love my records!

My father has a huge collection of classic LPs which take up so much space in his room! He sometimes invades my room in order to listen to them. As for me, I like oldies, so I don't care if there aren't modern musics in LP. I sometimes go to the record shop nearby to dig through all their stuff. I love LPs! :p

my brother is an aspriring dj and he has almost 500 vinyls, which he plays on his mixing decks. he has confessed that if anything ever happened to his records, i.e. they were stolen or the house burnt down, he would literally cry his eyes out and his heart would be broken, 'cos you can replace hundreds of pounds worth of equipment, but you can't replace classic vinyl.

Unfortunately my record player is a cheap one, and there is much difference of sound between a good player and a cheap one. A good one is too costly, unfortunately. mecry

can you really tell the difference then? my brother's got a pair of technics turntables and they were expensive, so the sound quality's very good - although he also has a mixing deck, which can enhance the overall sound quality.

Sort of I can tell. Most of the times good ones are very expensive. But you can never tell the sound quality until you actually listen to it. Not only is my record player cheap, but the amplifier (mixer) is old and rotten! I really need to change it. :( The only good things I have are the speakers. They are huge and wooden, and I don't know how much power it's got. They contribute much to the sound! :)
