Newbi here... First off I'd like to suggest that Peter Jackson call up Yngwie Malmsteen and ask him to do a track for the movie. Nothing like the fastest guitarist in the world! If you have NO idea who he is, checkout yngwie.org or if you're like me and live off of Kazaa, try finding some of his concerto work. Also listen to "Black Star." He's mostly instrumental (I'll be the first to admit that focal songs that include him suck monkey balls) but hes badass!

Hey, man, and welcome! Malmsteen would be awesome, so would Blind Guardian. If you haven't heard them, you should. They have a whole album based on The Silmarillion, called "Nightfall in Middle Earth".

Only that I don't think that guitarr music will fit into the theme we have heard in FotR and TTT. The same theme will continue, but with new music.
