To The Sea

Upon my chest it burns through flesh,
Through the toughest souls protected.
Upon my brow it slowly ploughs,
Into my mind left neglected.

There's so much climb, and not enough time,
To stroll into hell's hottest fires.
It calls to me, and says I'll foresee,
To recieve my deepest desires.

Though through it all, my heart sees all,
With the help of my beloved friend.
And with these last hopes, I will climb these slopes,
and perhaps I'll slowly mend.

Please comfort me, as I beg and plea,
For your shining light as our guide.
Since all dark descends, and no light befriends,
I trusted to Elbereth as I cried.

There's no one here, there's no one near,
The sky rains fire and ash upon me.
The life has gone, but still I walk on,
To save all lives as mine wanes free.

On those cold, dreary nights, as the frosty clouds bite,
I'll see a clearing straight above me.
And with that breathtaking sight, the stars will shine bright,
And I'll give my heart to the sea.

I love this poem! I love the words you chose and the rhyming scheme you used. It paints a very detailed picture of Frodo's thoughts. Good job!
