Actually, when I think about the movie I must admid that I am so afraid of the first time I will be watching it though I'm not sure why:
- afraid I won't like it, after waiting for it for such a long time...
- afraid my favorite scenes from the book are not even mentioned
- afraid I cry too much
- afraid I cry too little
- afraid it could end
..and many more.
When I watched TTT for the first time, I missed a lot of details because I was so busy being afraid (like above), but then, there still would be the third movie to save the thing for me, but now tith ROTK BEING the third movie...
well, is there anyone who feels likewise?

I am afraid of the thought that the movie will end. They will kick me out of the cinema! :'(

I am not so much afraid but very nervous, hoping they haven't screwed it up. if you think about it, if they totally mess up the end (which I dubt they have done) then it'll make the other two look stupid.
And that can't happen!!! lol

Yeah, I'm a little worried that they'll screw the plot up after all the changes made to TTT. But, I loved TTT anyways, and that was supposed to be the one that strayed the farthest from the books.

But yeah, I'm afraid that it won't live up to all the anticipation I have for it -- in fact, I know it won't. TTT didn't, and I came out dissapointed the first time. How could it, given that I've worked these movies up to no less than perfection? But, TTT grew on me each time I see it, and now I'm liking it as much as Fellowship!

So what I'm trying to say is, I don't think it's worth worrying about. You may have a dissapointing first veiwing if you've hyped it up, but RotK promises to be the best in the series, and I don't think Jackson will dissapoint!

I'm also quite afraid the movie will end. lol
In the FotR I constantly had the feeling the movie would end when I saw the Fellowship traveling, but it always continued! :naughty:
- Just left the Shire.
*Aah, end already? This movie is SHORTER than I thought!*
- "I will take the ring to Mordor! Although I do not know the way."~ Frodo
*Ok, that was a nice movie, nice Rivendell and such... too bad it ends already. And I didn't even eat all my popcorn! mecry *
- Gandalf fell, Enya starts to sing a dramatical song, the Fellowship runs, there's hardly any sound...
*Sniff. Sniff, that was horrible! Weeehhh (Ok, didn't really act like that, but... ;) ) Well, I guess that was it then... be going home by now...*
- "I give you the light of Elendil, our most beloved star... Namárië" ~ Galadriel
*:evilcool: :snooze: :snooze: ZZZzzzzzzzz... . . (Heheh lol )
- ....
It's proven, reading this post of mine is just a waste of time.

i think everyone here is afraid that the movie will end. But filfthylittletheif, if you were so afraid of not liking TTT that you really couldn't enjoy it the first time, i think you need to calm down (i mean this in a nice way). If you worry about RotK, then you wont be able to enjoy it. I say, just trust PJ - i mean you did like the FotR and TTT right? And EVERYONE, even Elijah Wood himself, said that RotK will be the best movie yet. So trust PJ - sit back, relax, and ENJOY! (dont forget the popcorn!) ;)

I'm not afraid at all. I know it'll be the best one. I just know it. I'm not afraid of the changes, i know they won't be that bad, just as even the ones in TTT weren't that bad at all (i know i might be the only one who thinks that :p) The movie will end, i know, but i'll see it again, and again, and again. And then the extended version, which i think i'll just put with the other three in a continuous loop. I know the anticipation and all will be gone, but on the other hand, these movies will be with us forever, and that's just great lol

I love your attitude Stickman - and i totally agree. ((and no, you're not the only one who doesn't think TTT changes were bad ;) )) But you're right about the movies staying with us... Even when they're out of theatres, we'll own our very own copy and will be able to watch them over and over until our DVD and VCR players break or go out of date lol ~*~ ah, i just can't wait! The movie is going to be all-around terrific! :whoohoo:

Not afraid, just anticapated and a little nervous, hopeing that everything will be as I hoped, (though they cut out SofS) and maybe a little sad, when finished, the whole trilogy will end. :( ;)

It would certainly be a real shame if for whatever reason ROTK was a turkey. I really doubt it but i admit to some apprehension

I think I am feeling the same as most of you people. I am very much looking forward to December 17, but if ROTK turns out to be a turkey then I shall be mortified! verymad

FOTR is simply a masterpiece, TTT doesn't quite reach that level but it comes very close. If the rumours are true and ROTK does turn out to be the best of the bunch then it will have to surpass FOTR in terms of character development AND action/suspense sequences - and I don't think it will.

I think the best way to judge ROTK will be when we watch the extended version on the DVD, which will be potentially 4 and a half hours long! :naughty: The theatrical version will probably seem a little rushed (if the movie doesn't seem rushed then it means that PJ left plenty of stuff out! ;)).

I think the Tolkien Purists, who have been avoiding spoilers for the past couple of years, need to learn quickly that The Scouring of the Shire is out. If fans of the book go and see the movie without that piece of information then I can imagine their reactions now! :(

PJ did wonders with FOTR and TTT and it is well within his capabilities to deliver something similar with ROTK. BUT, I think I speak for us all when I say that the ending is very important, and if it isn't satisfactory then the previous 9 hours of film will seem a little silly.

Now, where's that prozac... roflmao

The only thing that I am not happy about is that I cannot look forward to LOTR every Christmas season again. In fact, I wished that Peter Jackson's next project would be The Silmarillion although I know it would not be so.

In fact, like Stickman, I am of the opinion that Return of The King would be the greatest and best of all the movies in this trilogy.

There's just so many things that are simply amazing, that it just can't fail. It just can't. And the fact that the first 2 movies were so wonderful says a lot about what's about to come :) :) :)

I has quite a lot to live up too, compared to the other two, but I'm sure that Rotk, will be very good. ;)

Hi, no, I am not afraid. I'm confident too it will be the best of the three. PJ has already said it's his favorite. The more I read, the more I understand the love and respect he and his team have brought to the task of translating the books to film. Many of the actors also seem to comment that it will be the best.

I also think that the tremendous reception of the first two films, both box office $$ and the cultural phenomenon created, just reinforces for PJ and his team the importance of this film, especially to the fan base.

I read that the first edits were running about 3.5 hours for the theatrical version, and the extended version will be even longer. That's a lot of storytelling time, time to include flashbacks that didn't make it into FOTR and TTT, and elements of the backstory.

Yeah, it will be over in a sense but not really because you can always read the books and watch the films repeatedly at home, and I'll bet each time you will find some new aspect to appreciate.

In a interview, I think that Elijah Wood said that none of the characters will ever be the same again. This is kinda scary, but I'm sure that they'll have all grown up a lot, throught the trilogy and it will be portrayed on screen. ;)

Don't be scared by that comment. Think about it. Even by the end of TTT (book and movie), these characters will never be the same after what they have seen, endured, and shared. What is neat is that it's also true for the company of cast and crew who made the films. Part of growing in life, part of the essential nature of journey experiences (or as PJ calls them, road movies). The challenges of ROTK just take it to a higher level.

It's tough when stuff comes to an end in the storytelling, but remember "the road goes ever onward."

Thank you, didn't make me feel so bad. Another good thing in Rotk, we get to see Bilbo again! ;) :wiggle:
