Okay...I don't think I could ever reach the level that most artists have reached with LOTR work....but here's my attempt at the ring...yes....it's a bit simple...
I think there are a few things wrong with it though....any suggestions?

Oh wow! Those are real cool pictures, ReAder! I don't see anything particularly wrong... Maybe the way the light reflects on the ring in the second picture's a little odd. I think they are really good! How did you make them?

Wow! You did those?
They are fantastic!! Though yes, the light on the second picture is a bit odd, I'd say the light is little strong down one side of the ring, maybe it should be a little more subtle.
Very good pictures!

Well....it wasn't so hard, I basically used a 3d program to make a disc and then poked a hole through it;).
Hmm...the light was a bit of a problem at first but I've managed to fix it now, btw does anyone know where....the ring 'text' is located? Outside? Inside? ....Both??!

Outside, I think, though it may be both.
Those are very good pictures!

Both!

...and the translated version

- smoothed it a bit more
- text on both sides:grin:
- toned down the lighting
...now I'm not sure about the quote though...does anyone know what the inscription says (in the movie/book)?

Okay I'm done playing around with the ring now, it's off to try to remake helm's deep!
This is just a wireframe overlapping the ring, insight into how it's done I guess.

Mirrormere, what kind of software do you use to make them? I wish I could make those things...

Well right now I'm using Lightwave 7.5 by Newtek....lol...it is a bit pricy... though not as much if you buy the student version:grin:.
It's a simple program really, doesn't take too long to learn:thumbs:.

Oh, now I see! You've got me interested. Maybe I'll save and get the student version or somethin'. I want to try making 3d things. :)

Meh...I've just found out that alot of it doesn't look too accurate mecry , but in the future I'll know what to do if I really need to make an accurate version:p.
