There are obviously many sites out there on the net that contain brilliant fanfic and it looks like there are some people who want to share them with us by posting a link to the website.
Instead of having lots of separate threads, if you have a link to a fanfic then please post it here.
Thank you,
Pil :dragon: :read:
P.S. Please keep the links posted inkeeping with the forum rules. Try to keep the fics to a rating of PG. Thanks again. :p

Aragorn's Latest Lay
March 9th,2003, 09:04 AM

And now I feel really bad for overlooking one of the funniest fanfics I have ever read - yes, A.L.L.'s Lord of the Swings
It will make you laugh! It will make you cry! It will make you demand more from your fanfic writers!
Use link in above post to find aforementioned fic nestling comfortably in our very own fanfic section!!

As always, Lalaith, you are too kind but come on in to the fanfic section ladies and gents, the water's warm, the wine is flowing freely and if you're really lucky you'll avoid getting sand in your bathers.
I was not so fortunate.
I digress, take a look anyway....

Some hobbity fanfics that I just could not get enough of are:
Reuinion in Minas Tirth (http://fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=907938) by Shirebound (A friend of mine)
The Care and Feeding of Hobbits (http://fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1070574) by Baylor
Those are a few... I'll post some more later

Some recs...
First of all I must recommend the dear Lalaith who dragged me here and whose fics I dearly love: Lalaith's profile on FFN (http://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?userid=339031)
Next... hm... so hard to choose... basically, I can recommend every single story in the Silmarillion section on fanfiction.net! Check it out here (http://www.fanfiction.net/list.php?categoryid=1580). The Silmarillion section is nearly as high quality as the Henneth Annun Story Archive (http://www.henneth-annun.net) and that archive has quality control like you wouldn't believe. HASA has a great deal of LotR based stories, so I'd suggest looking around there as well. Apart from that, there are so many good authors and stories that I simply can't figure out which ones to plug... ah well, you should find more than enough at those two sites.

If you have ever read Harry Potter, I suggest reading this extremely amusing fic in which all the Harry Potter Characters are enlisted to act out the Lord Of the Rings! Tis a masterpiece of amusement!

I have soo many to recommend (therefore this is just going to be the first of many posts) ;)
I really enjoy ones from www.henneth-annun.net
This author is really good...
Thundera Tiger's "While the Ring Went South" (gap-fillers in the 2 weeks that Tolkien didn't write much about =)
http://www.henneth-annun.net/stories/chapter.cfm?STID=40
I'm currently reading "Fear No Darkness" by her.. I can't put it down!
that's one story...here's another =)
Arien's "The Way to Healing"
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=663095
and another:
The Blue Book by Lulleny
http://www.henneth-annun.net/stories/chapter.cfm?STID=1989
and another: (though it's rated for people who are over 17)
"Legacy" by Anglachel
http://www.henneth-annun.net/stories/chapter.cfm?STID=1989
i'll be back with more! but those are some of my favorites at henneth-annun.net =)

May I recommend the Barrow Downs? It's another good all-around site, though I prefer WOTR of course, else why would I be here every day ...
Anyway, the fanfiction section is excellent. I especially suggest the work of an author calling him- or herself Talking Hawk.
The Barrow Downs Fanfiction is here:
http://barrowdowns.com/fanfiction/
My favorite story, which is based on the Silm, but you don't have to read it to understand, is:
Dark Forge
If you can find it, read it.
Another favorite, well-written, fast-paced:

May I humbly recommend the stories that I have had the pleasure of reading at a website titled Memoirs of the Shire. I do believe that the author is a member here at WOTR. I have truly enjoyed her writings for they make one feel as though the story continues on just as The Return of the King comes to an end. They are a must for anyone who wishes that The Lord of the Rings would have never ended.

i like the last chapter of this one...
but a Uruk-hai being ...nice?
that's going a bit too far.... :mmmm:
http://www.henneth-annun.net/stories/chapter.cfm?STID=1609
btw...this fanfic isn't about a Uruk-hai... it's about Frodo meeting a Uruk-hai.. and it's not humor... it's under the category "General"
but indeed...very unUruk-hai-like this last one was...
hehe... what/how SHOULD i think of this one? =)

Wow, there are so many good fanfics out there, it's hard to choose favorites. But here are a few of mine. I'm sure i'll be back later to post some more.
This is a link to my favorties at fanfiction.net. There are some excellent fics with Legolas in them (they're my favorite, lol). There are some with angst, lots of action and adventure, and lots of friendship between Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli. Check them out. No Legomance, no slash, and no Mary-Sues.

The best online fanfic I've ever read:
The Heart's Song: A Romantic Comedy featuring Tolkien's Elves
/http://www.warofthering.net/forums/vbulletin225/upload/showthread.php?t=3599&page=1&pp=15
It was posted a while ago by a member who is no longer active, Jedi Elf Queen. If you're into Haldir at all, this one's for you! Beware, though, it's long! About 19 forum pages including all the commentary from the Peanut Gallery (myself included) :p Well worth it though. :)

I would recommend The Melon Chronicles. They're fantastic, but quite long and very involved. Most feature character torture, but there are warnings of what each contains. They are a series, and I rcommend reading them in posted order, but you can read them alone. Below the ones written by the site creators are others, written by a huge variety of people, and some of them are really funny.

While it's not fanfic per se, I have been working on a story that is inspired by Tolkien and several other fantasy writers. Rather than post it again here, please follow the link below to read it. Please give it a try... I think you'll enjoy it!

http://www.fanfiction.net/u/435741/ ~ This author has some excellent stories.
Her "The Master of Bag End" especially stood out to me as a well-written and thought through angst story. I also recommend her stories "The Guilty, Part I and Part II" and "Of the Aberration of a Hobbit."
If you like AU, Arwen Baggin's (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/385868/) story "More than Mithril" is for you. She should soon be getting back to updating, as college is almost over for her. On her agenda is that one, "Frodo's Bane and Pippin's Stomach," and "His Little Evenstar."

For Boromir fans, I highly recommend Carolyn Colledge's story, Boromir's Journey (http://www.scribeoz.com/fanfic/story.php?no=1272&chapter=1)
Part of the reason I enjoy her writing is she sticks to the nature of the characters, giving them dialogue true to their personalities.

Hello! Okay, I know this thread has been stagnant since a year ago... but i need to tell you guys about these fabulous fanfiction!
http://www.fanfiction.net/u/497800/
"Don't Panic!" is about a girl named Penelope Baker who, well, dropped into Middle Earth. WAIT! Before it is dismissed as one of the typical girl-in-ME stories, i just wanna say that it IS fabulous because boz4pm has added REALISM into it, to such an extent that we get to see how much we (21st century urbanites) would REALLY wish to stay near clean toilets... Give it a try?
"Okay, NOW Panic" is the sequel to "Don't Panic".. I won't spoil the surprise now...
http://p216.ezboard.com/fbrothersinarms39025frm13
Admittedly, both the story and its sequel is not yet completed. The EzBoard Hacking Disaster has caused much trouble (and lotsa files to disappear), so the guys there are trying to restore it... BUT it is still a wonderful read. It is beautifully crafted, with lotsa angst and hilarity, and a dash of insanity here and there... 'boz4pm' is also known as 'Nenya' in this site (you'll find a direct link from her fanfiction profile).. I'll leave it to you to read the summary here >>>

The Approaching Darkness
The fourth kinslaying.. with guns. Marvellous work! All the conspiracy surrounding the story is awe-inspiring. It started up from an innocent thread at TWC and turned into this serious, action packed story... packed with guns, helicopters, clones, maia and lotsa Elves through the ages One side is the EiB or the Elves in Black, while the other side is the EiWC aka. Elves in White Coats. Based on personal proof, this story is guaranteed to make any LOTR-fanatic or PEFs addicted!
TADers
The sequel to TAD... Elves are reborn through the ages (and of course, civilisations, conquests and eras). TADers touches on the 21st century, of 4 university undergrads who suddenly find themselves an interest to the CIA. They find out that they are actually the characters of a 'certain' story they wrote and are in fact jotting down their past memories... Conflict arises, two of these 'changelings' and one of their new found friend get captured by the CIA. Watch, as the Elves try to get them back from the clutches of the CIA... Will they survive?
There are other stuff connected to TAD or TADers...
Like Historical Vignettes for example. You find them elves, are not as innocent as they seem... like the Roswell Conspiracy for example... and some other scenarios like that of Robin Hood...
Eonwe's Secret Diaries aged eternity and 3/4... hilarious!
Hope you find them as interesting, riveting and addictive as I do! :)
