The One Ring
Cursed and Blessed both at birth,
Destined without a tongue to tell a tale
That writes itself with blood and tears
That has lasted now for far too many years.
Forged in darkened fire
Brooding, thinking, forever dire.
Sauron seeks and Men desire,
In the palm of Gollum, he admires.
Such a simple thing that takes so much,
Little in weight and heavy in blood, that is such.
He who wears it on their finger it will corrupt,
And the lives of all it shall disrupt.
It could have ended long ago and far below,
Deep inside Mordor where the shadows lie.
Cast into the fires it was not,
For it was held by Mortal hands.
Awakened an Evil in Mordor where Shadows lie,
Soon causing heroic Men and great Elves to die.
What darkness looms close, when shall it take me?
How long will it be before it's too late to see?
We brave our hearts, soon sad songs we shall sing,
All because of the of such a simple little thing,
All because of the One Ring.
