Very Cool!
The calculated times seem a bit rushed, though..... I'm afraid PJ will have way too much to do to make anything slow or well paced, but I suppose we'll all just have to hope.... and wait. ;)

Excellent news.
I agree, Nessa. The running times do seem somewhat rushed. Yet I'm sure it will all turn out okay...hopefully.
Nonetheless, I can't wait for December! :)

Here is my question. Is this charecter going to bhe in ROTK: I don't remember the charecters name but he was a man with some elvish blood was the champion of the battle of Pelennor Feilds. Later his daughter married Eomer and becomes queen of Rohan.

It was Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth.

Yeah thats it. Anyone got info on him?

January 29th,2003, 11:31 PM
He was the Prince of Dol Amroth. I'm not entirely sure, but he could well have been Boromir's and Faramir's uncle [I think his sister was their mother, someone correct me if I'm wrong]. He fought at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, later at the Morannon, and rules Minas Tirith for a short time between Denethor's death, and the recovery of Faramir. His daughter, Lothriel later married Eomer.
Apparently, his Evish ancestry showed through quite strongly in Imrahil, causing him to be known as "The Fair". He was also a great warrior.

Here is some information from the Encyclopedia of Arda.
The Prince of Dol Amroth at the time of the War of the Ring, who fought at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and marched on Mordor with the host of Aragorn II Elessar.
Biographical information about Imrahil is quite limited in the canonical sources, and some of that shown here comes from Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-earth and, especially, The Peoples of Middle-earth (The History of Middle-earth vol 12, I VII The Line of Dol Amroth). This represents a draft of the Appendices to The Lord of the Rings, and contains extensive information that did not appear in the published version.
The dates of Imrahil's birth and death, and the details of his three children Elphir (who himself became Prince of Dol Amroth), Elchirion and Amrothos are not mentioned outside this source. Although they are entirely consistent with the published texts, they cannot therefore be considered fully canonical
The line of the Princes of Dol Amroth, though they were certainly Men, in fact claimed a measure of Elvish blood. It was claimed that the first Prince, Galador, was half-elven: his father was Imrazôr the Númenórean, but his mother was an Elf-maid, Mithrellas. Imrahil was Galador's direct descendant through twenty-one generations, and so could himself claim distant descent from Mithrellas.
Tolkien makes it clear that this was a tradition in Dol Amroth, and not necessarily a true story. According to the legend, Mithrellas was a companion of Nimrodel, who became lost in the woodlands of Belfalas, and was taken in by Imrazôr. As far as they go, these details match the established history of Nimrodel's journey. Unions of Elf and Man, though, are all but unheard of in Tolkien's universe, and are always of vital historical importance. The Princes' claims of Elven descent, while they are not certainly false, are difficult to accept without scepticism.
Also, his sister was Finduilas, who wedded with Denethor II, thus making him the Uncle of Boromir & Faramir.

HEAVY HEAVY SPOILERS:
This is some extraordinary news i foubd on TORN:
"In March last year, Peter Jackson attached a four-minute Two Towers preview to the end of Fellowship of the Ring. It's starting to seem quite likely that he'll be doing a similar thing for Two Towers. This of course gives us something to look forward to in just over a month's time. Check out this spoilericious report from the boards of Comingsoon.net.
This report was posted on the Comingsoon.net forums on January 30 by Jedi5150. Now, keep in mind that at this stage it's still pretty rumoursome, but this is what Jedi5150 had to say:
"SOURCES" are reporting that PJ in the coming weeks will be viewing fine cut and complete footage of RoTK for the extended preview to added to TTT in March. "THEY" say that PJ has a short list of certain scenes he wants to put in and then he will view any other footage to add and make it complete. According to "SOME" this is what PJ's list is said to include:
Aragorn handing the brooch back to it's rightful owner, Pippin. This sounds cool, because if you remember TTT preview the opening scene was of Aragorn picking up Pippin's brooch, and to have the preview of RoTK to start with this scene, it makes for a great continuation. That would (also) be our first glimpse of the reunion aka the road to Isengard.
Ride of the Rohirrim
Merry pledging his sword
Pippin approaching the palantir
Shots establishing Gondor, perhaps moments before the SIEGE OF GONDOR
The meeting between Faramir and Eowyn
Establishing shots of Pellenor fields
Mouth of Sauron
Aragorn walking up to the palantir
Pippin riding with Gandalf on Shadowfax
Shots establishing moments before the battle at the black gate
Aragorn in his Gondorian armor, riding into battle
Paths of the dead
"Minor" shots of Shelob
(And although) they do not want to show too much... Denethor
FINALLY (for) THE BIG FINALE, I have possible dialouge to go with this one ... Frodo and Sam by the crack of Doom, SAM: DESTROY it Mr. Frodo! FRODO: no ... I will not destroy it! THE RING IS MINE!!!
You can read the entire thread on www.Comingsoon.net. "
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  I'm so exicited

I really hope that they do not make the same mistake that they did with TTT. Showing Gandalf in the trailers.
I hope that the preview and the trailers for RotK will be quite spoilerfree, and hypebuilding.

No it wouldn't. Showing Gollum falling into the fire would ruin it. I think this will build suspense for those who haven't read the books.

February 3rd,2003, 05:17 PM
How about this?
The suspense and hype-building.. snatches of Faramir meeting Eowyn for instance... etc...etc...heavy telling of how the ring's taking Frodo into its evil... with the narrator words going on until finally...
Helicopter shot of Frodo and Sam in Mount Doom
"One final choice to determine the fate of Middle Earth..."
Sam looking at despair to Frodo... yelling in desperation "FRODO!!!" then it was suddenly cut off...ROTK, coming to you on December 25.....
That should get a lot of hype going on...
TheRingBearer
February 3rd,2003, 06:09 PM
Oh hell yeah thats how Ipictured the preview. You see Sam deliver his line then you get a shot of Frodo turning around and giving Sam a glare like the one Isildur did in FOTR in Mount Doom, then it cuts away before you hear what he says.

February 3rd,2003, 07:01 PM
Wow, this is probably going to be the best film ever! December seems so far away. ;)
Meriadoc Brandybuck
February 3rd,2003, 07:32 PM
Yes, it does. So far, I think the preview will look like Sam saying his line about destroying the Ring with a desperate expression, Frodo glaring and refusing to, claiming the Ring, then dissapearing; then the screen goes black. Or, Frodo claims the Ring, and the screen goes black after a worried shot of Sam. However it turns out, it'll be awesome! :)
