OK, here is another day calendar poem (what else?) This is my mom's favorite, and she doesn't even like Orcs! It must be the way it's written. Anyway, the picture is a head and shoulders shot of an Uruk-hai that looks a lot like Lurtz, but isn't Lurtz.
"Uruk-hai"
Born with one purpose to fulfill,
One desire stirs his black heart:
The race of Men to seek out and kill;
To destroy, raze, and tear apart.
A work of genius, flesh and blood,
From a race of Orcs perfected;
Born in slime and filth and mud,
Vengeance forever infected.
A mind enslaved to do the will
Of the master of his creation;
Hunting the lands with inborn skill,
Lust for blood his motivation.
An immortal race of evil pawns
In a game the Powers play.
A race with beauty and innocence gone;
A life forever gray.
