How can there not be a Shelob?????

what are they going to do with out shelob??? the story will be robbed of one of the best parts! and how will they explain why Gollum said 'she'll do it!'... it will make no sense at ALL... grrr, if they know what's good for them they'll finish her

Why? Are thery planning on having no Shelob? That just wouldn't make sense considering the whole Gollum line at the end of TTT. I really hope they have Shelob becsue that was one of my favorite parts and I couldn't wait to see it in the movie.

gatsby, read the articel carefully before you get indignant. they as good as said she would be in the final release, just not in the trailer.Although the principal shooting had been done, the special effects won't be finished until the release there will be a shelob, just not in the trailer in march or whatever

Shelob will probably be this year's Gollum. Like Gollum, Shelob will be kept under wraps as long as possible. In the trailers and photographs released of Gollum last year, you only ever saw the back of his head or back, or something crawling over rocks - you never saw his face clearly. Even The Two Towers Visual Companion did ndot have any full facial pictures of Gollum.

Of course, Shelob does not exactly have a "face".

There is a picture of Shelob of sorts floating around out there. It shows some dark cave, a bit of light - and what looks like a spider - although with the shadow it is hard to tell. It's been around for several months.

Even if they don't show Shelob in the trailer, there is no reason why they couldn't show Sam or Frodo in the tunnel, clutching a sword or Galadriel's phial, obviously about to be attacked by something out of the darkness.

there was talk at one stage of there being a scene in the trailer with Sam and Frodo in a cavern like setting with webs all over it.........tho this WAS a while ago so theres no saying if its really going to be in...........but yes OFC Shelobs going to be in......effects shots are often still being worked on at the last moment.....this is no different

Personally, I would be EXTREMLY surprised to even get a glimpse of Sheolb in any of the trailers. Just look at PJs track record. In FotR we never saw any more than a glimpse of the Balrog until the movie came to the theaters. For TTT all we get of the Ents until the movie is a quick closeup of Treabeard. PJ and New Line are playing their CGI cards very close to the chest and not revealing any of their really good CGI in trailers or even photos anywhere.

Since Shelob is very intrigal to the plot (Sam needs to become a ring bearer as it adds another level to his character) as well as setting up Golumn (rather than Smegol) as our anti-hero she will most likely be in the movie. Fear not, and just have faith in PJ.

In the news on this sight, they said that they were still working on Shelob in the post-production. She's not the way PJ wants her to be yet. She'll be in it I'm sure, but GOLLUM? I think she has a few less lines than him...but...weirder things HAVE happened.
