I haven't writen any LOTR poetry exept my contributions to the Two Towers thread, but I do write, and I decided it would be nice to share some of it. This is one.

I wrote it a few years ago after hearing a program on the radio about abolishing the Jury system in England (isn’t it weird what things spark you off)? And I was just kinda wondering what would replace it, and seeing as machines are taking over our lives more and more, I was moved to write is futuristic poem.
I’m quite proud of it myself, though I don’t know if it will be to anybody else’s taste lol

A Kind of Justice

The courtroom was silent
all the evidence had been given.

The Judge turns to the Jury
and does his last summing up.

Within ten minutes
the Jury was done

The Judge turns to the Jury and asks,
‘Do you find the defendant Guilty or Not guilty?’

For a moment there’s silence
as the whole courtroom hold their breath.

Then the silence is broken

As the printer on the small table at the side of the Bench
comes to life.

The sergeant picks up the piece of paper
and reads out the one word answer

Guilty!

i like it. the stark contrast of present and future, and the word choice is very effective. i think you did a very good job portraying your intriguing idea :)
