WEll, actually we would prefer that you only use the IMG code for phots that are here on our site, for other sites please post the link as above. Using the IMG code for external phots is called "hot-linking" it taps into the other sites bandwidth and they don't get the hits, so tis frowned upon;)

Hello everyone!

I am relatively new here but I have this hobby you see.

I collect pictures... and when Ive got those pictures I make signatures - banners and avatars.

Always of LOTR of course.

I wanted to share them with people so... Ive started this thread.

However, may I add that if your picture isn't being directly linked from WotR itself (mine is from my WotR photo forums), it'd be better that you use the url code to post up links to the picture you'd like to share, like what Beleriel has done.

Using the IMG code to post pictures directly in a thread, or 'hot-linking' (like what I've done) is discouraged in the forums because not only do you pull the bandwidth from the other site to feed the image, the other site does not get any of the traffic that the image (or movie download) might bring to that site. Bandwidth is what you pay for and hits are what you want. Hits are used to measure the amount of traffic on your site. (direct quoting from Illu's PM to me lol) Of course, if the pics are from your own website you don't mind linking the image directly here, do so by all means. :)

well one is not supposed to post images that dont come from wotr. i think we've established that.

otherwise just put the link and people can click on it if they want to see the pic.

if you want lengthy instructions on how to post an image, PM win because I'm sure she'd be glad to help you :)

Actually, it's very easy to post up pics directly with the IMG code ya know. Anyway, just PM me if you me to teach you how to do so. lol

These are rather rubbish photos, but they do look good as a desktop. (I've got the Golden Hall one on my computer!) I took them myself, using a digital camera from my own video. I promised Win I'd put the piccies up of my pendant and ring, but I've lost them, so I'll do that this weekend. (I'll take more photos as well.) Anyway, enough of my rambling, here they are!
