View Full Version : Farewell, Legolas Greenleaf

There is a stirring in our hearts,
a longing for our friend Legolas Greenleaf.
Ere the days of our life were come to an end,
never again shall we lay our eyes
on a being as fair as he,
of such wondrous beauty
as Legolas who sailed over Sea.
He, of such noble mien and stature
whose fair speech is of second nature
has truly captured our hearts
ere a single word he speaks.
Wither we seek
will we find such as he,
with hair of spun gold and eyes of starlight.
Woe to us who have laid our eyes on Legolas Greenleaf,
who is now no more in our sight.
Will not the Valar have mercy
on our sorrowful plight?
Still to us the Bay of Eldamar
is as far as the furtherst star
as the ships of Cirdan sail no more
save only in tales of yore.
Sail we to Eldamar?
Nay!
Though the longing of our hearts be not stilled,
the Doom of Men will free us some day
from the confines of this world.
And Legolas Greenleaf yet we will meet again.
Till then our hearts in sorrow and pain
must toil on this sad and weary earth.

I am not the poetic type so I hope the above is not too bad an effort.
