...a debut from Jude Fisher.
If the name rings a bell, you might have already purchased one of Jude Fisher's books. She most recently compiled the 'Visual Companion' for The Two Towers. It's a great book! :read:
However, i was extremely happy to discover that Jude not only does this kind of film guide book, she also writes her own books. :p
Her debut book is called 'Sorcery Rising'. It's the first book published in the series she is writing called 'Fool's Gold'. :king:
It's a fabulous read...it's a bit fantasy based, lord of the rings'y type settings, viking and saxon influences, that sort of thing. :)
When i finished i was dying to continue the series....unfortunately the next books are not yet published and the book ends on such a cliff hanger! :o lol However, despite an agonising ending this book thoroughly deserves a read by all. It's a combination of love, action, passion and gives a men and women's perspective on situations.
If this sounds like a book you would enjoy then please take a look at it some time. veryhappy
I would probably recommend this book more for young adults and adults, 15+ maybe, because of some of the content, but it isn't really that bad. ;)
If anyone else has read Sorcery Rising or would like more info on the plot etc. then post here and i'll be happy to chat about it! :hooray:
You can probably tell how much i love this book..... roflmao

Searched it up at my online bookstore, and its not in norwegian yet. Sounds interesting, tho, please tell me more! From your enthusiasm I gather this is a book one might want to own in a hardback version...?

nope...she's been told she needs to redo more prep work.....apparently none of what she'd done was 'up to standard' which is ridiculous cos they all looked really good.....
this is why i don't do art! lol

...and the same reason why I didn't persue an education as an interior dedorator or a furniture designer! After 3 years of cabinetmaking I didn't make the exams because of some pedantic sensors idiotic decision, and I soon understood that the majority of art- teachers are like that- they let their own taste rule when deciding whats good and whats not! verymad pfbbt

And......here i am! lol
I'm SOOO sorry that i keep forgetting to come here! BG's reports of my art life have been very accurate...my teacher likes nothing i do so i have to keep doing more and more to attempt to get something she does like!  :p
Anyway...sorcery rising! :read: :hooray: :) Indeed Cuiel, as a book on it's own Sorcery Rising is indeed worthy of hardback purchase...but i'm personally going to wait until the whole series of Fool's Gold is out. Then i'll buy the box set! :) I'm going to write a letter to Jude Fisher...encouraging her to continue with the series...and to tell her how great her book is!
On the topic of the photos...i have got them developed...they keep travelling to and from school in my folder with me but i need to find a lunchtime when BG and i can get to the school computer room together (so she can show me how the scanner works! lol) I will endeavour to arrange such a meeting in the near future and i'll let u know when they appear in the events thread! :)

Sounds great, Pil! I guess it will be a while before the book comes out in norwegian, but do you think the language is too difficoult for me to read? I'm normaly very patient, but I'm very curious about this item!

I should think i would be ok judging by how good your english is! :o  Seriously though, u couldn't tell u didn't speak english as a first language! :)
There is equal amounts of description and more action-based parts to the book, so language ranges from chapter to chapter. :p
Would you like me to put together a non-spoiler summary of the plot? :read:
