I'm new in here and I would just like to test if I have any hope as a poet. I like ringwraiths so I tried to come up with a poem about them. So here it is. Short and simple

Horse as dark as a shadow of fear
and the rider like a ghost of death.
Their shadow ruins the water so clear
and his scream takes away your breath.
At the speed of lightning they run.
Like a wild storm in the rocky plains,
searching for the small and brave,
who is traveling to Mordor,to his own grave.

Hey, that's really good, I like it

I like the:
his scream takes away your breath

If you read that out loud then your breath is taken away as you read that word, and coupled with the 'death' line that comes before, that kinda builds up to it, it makes that line even more effective!

that was really really good. thats some awesome images you use there, and you have a great grasp of poetic devices, i especially loved the last similie... The last line is so powerful, it gives a new twist to the poem, plus this poem is really cool!! Sorry thats a lame word, lol, but tis true ;)

Thanks for the support! Maybe I should make an ending to that so it wouldn't be so short....

That is such a great poem! Very dark and discriptive in its telling. :)

I especially enjoy reading "and his scream takes away your breath" line.
