*Have on hand three days' worth of water and food, an emergency supply kit for both home and automobile, radios with extra batteries, and plastic sheeting and duct tape to seal windows and doors
*Make a plan for contacting family members in an emergency
*Learn about different types of attacks so you will know what to do in an emergency
*Do not cancel events or travel plans
*Be especially aware of your surroundings and the events happening around you

well .. uhhh i'm cool with that i guess. but i doubt anything will happen. just to be on the safe side ..

Its probably the government just saving their backs in case there is some form of attack, people can't turn around and say 'but you didn't warn us or tell us what to do".

On a similar note, i just read on BBCnews about there being tanks and stuff at Heathrow - that'll be a bit of a shocking sight if you've just got off the plane lol

the thing is that on the news they said that the tanks were there to reassure people....i dunno about everyone else but that fact that tanks were placed around heathrow didn't make me feel safe at all. the easiest thing to do would be for terrorists to get in a tank and sit in line with all the rest....they could easily fire at planes from there! lol

i do this army thing after school on aq monday and last year they told us what to do in case of a nuclear attack...we all laughed and didn't pay attention....i'm now beginnning to regret that....all i can remember is 'don't look at the light'.....hmm....useful....

The armed police at airports, I've always thought are reassuring, but maybe the sights of tanks would be a bit scarier. I remember a stop over at Mumbai (Bombay), where there's a big military presence was a bit scary, especially becasue they were manhandling my bags, and I kept having to bite my tongue to stop me from saying something.

when i went to china i always got made to take off my shoes and stuff at the airports....they seem really conscious over there....took about 10 mins to go through the security checks!

im not worried by any of this.. the odds of any one of us being a victim of a terrorist attack is probably less than winning the lottery.. so when i win the lottery, maybe i'll be a little more worried
