I don't either but i would love to see that. Maybe Glorfindel will replace Haldir as the 'elf general' since his role was robbed by Arwen

Maybe Elladan and Elrohir will show up in the movie. You can see them during the Council of Elrond, seated at either side of Elrond.

NOOOOOOOOO!
I can't remember no fighting elves in ttt either btw... But enough with that already! Send the elves to Valinor already PJ!

*Mirky calms down*
Elves aren't interested in the affairs of Middle-Earth anymore, sorry but it's just wrong to have them fighting... Plus it ruins the idea of the Last Alliance

So would the Last Alliance become the "Next -to-the-Last Alliance"? :p

Since Arwen took Glorifindel's role in FOTR, maybe she'll take over Haldir's job, too. :Pukey:

Sorry, Mirkgirl, but the elves are just too darn popular with the masses. $10 says they'll show - Mr. Jackson would have a lot of explaining to do as to why they'd show for Helm's Deep and not for the last battle. I can definitely see them being added again, unfortunately.

Also although it is not described in great detail the elves do fight in ROTK. Thranduil (legolas' dad) fights a great battle with the orcs in the forest of Mirkwood and of course Lothlorien is attacked 3 times by the forces from Dol Guldur. So it is not commiting too brutal a corruption of the truth to have a few more long haired, pointy eared bow twangers floating about.

I guess there will turn out to be some elvish survivors from Helm's Deep who form the grey company who follow Aragorn. Should keep those with that elf thing going on happy :)

I really hope he puts the elves in there. IMO, I felt that the elves in the book were arrogant, stuck-up, and very cold. Yes there time is over, but they're not going to do a gosh darn thing to help out the world they love? Please! I was glad to read (in the appendices) that they did fight orcs to a degree, but I was always angry that they never helped out in the major battles.

Jackson's elves are more compassionate. They know there time is up, but they'd rather risk there lives to save the world they love and the people who will fill it. That's noble.

*end rant*

I don't think there will be elves fighting, didn't think they did in the books, th only elves were Legolas and Arwen's two brothers. ;)

I have a hunch that elves will be involved in fighting scenes in RoTK. I am looking forward to seeing more elf-action.

I don't think there are any warrior elves left to fight in Rotk. So many were killed at HD. :(

I think PJ is going to have to condense all the battles of the War of the Ring into one or two, Pellanor and Morranon (sp?)maybe just Pellanor, therefore I think we will see not only Elves fight in the ROTK movie but Dwarves also. Too much jumping around if he doesn't. Will be entertaining...

Arwen's 2 brothers... Elrohir and Elladen, are they twins?

Arwen's 2 brothers... Elrohir and Elladen, are they twins?

I cannot recall off hand if it is stated that they are "twins". I don't remember Professor Tolkien actually using that word. BUT in the short description given it ROTK(or perhaps it was TTT) it did say that they were so alike that few could tell them apart(or something to that extent I don't have my book in front of me) So common logic suggests, to me, that they were indeed twins.

As for elves fighting in ROTK, I really don't see anything bad about it. I got goosebumps when I saw Helms Deep for the first time and saw all those elves figting alongside the men of Rohan. :battle:

I really was looking forward to seeing Elladan and Elrohir in RoTK simply because they ARE supposed to be there. But seeing as their roles are not very large in respect to the rest of what is going on I don't hold much hope, but perhaps they will be there, just not named.

Yes Elladen and Elrohir are twins, says so in the apendices. As for elves fighting in RoTK I would higly enjoy seeing them fight again. When allready know at least three elves will fight, if PJ doesn't screw that part up, and they are Legolas, Elrohir, and Elladen.

if dwarves are going to war, they will need more complicated cg effects and some scale double stuff
