Is Lirael and Abhorsen out? I have read Sabriel and loved it but I didn't know the others had been released... I didn't even know what the third one would be called! Is it only in America or something?

don't feel stupid!!! Sabriel is a book where a girl who lives in a diff world (with many the same principles) who goes on a Necromantic quest for her father.
Lirael is a sequel to Sabriel, and it's about a girl trying to find her parents and her "Sight"
Abhorsen is about the two of them meeting.
I tried to write this w/o spoilers!
It's in a sci fi section... if you can find it is Saudi Arabia, then i suggest you read them. :)

Sounds like a cool story, I'll look for it, can you tell me who the author is? Cause that would help me with my search for it
Yay! something to read before I start re-reading LOTR again :p
I just hope that I'll find it in SA, if it's not in here then I'll look for it in Canada or London on my Summer Vacation if I go there ;)

Toronto is nice! the theatre is very nice, and the science museum (good for all ages, if you get a chance, go there!) Bit too big for me though....
Back on topic, I'm sure that they have great bookstores there ;) ;)

Anyone like these? Well, I think they're awesome!
If your parents randomly pick up your reading material and thumb through and read all the parts you don't want them to (grr) be careful with these. They mention Death and necromancy. But no devil worship here. It's innocent. Trust me.hearnoevil
Lots of cool characters, including Sabriel, an eighteen-year-old necromancer (she's way cool); and Mogget, a catlike thing who is actually a magical spirit bent on revenge :catz:; and Touchstone, an illegitimate prince who's been a ship's figurehead for centuries. Those are in Sabriel. In Lirael, you find out more about what Mogget is (takes some real logic though), and meet Sabriel's wimpy son, and cool stuff happens. And in Abhorsen ... I don't know. Haven't read it. Broke, so can't get it. mecry
As you can tell, I love Mogget.:catz: :evilcool: Evil but funny.
Someone tell me what you think of these brilliant books! :read:

Well, tell me what you thought of Sabriel! Lirael is good, worth waiting for, and the main character is this stoic, silent girl about Sabriel's age who is a Sightless Clayr (and that's all in the blurb, so I'm not giving anything away.) And Mogget's back! Joy! Sabriel is a little more realistic, a few more girlish freak-outs.

I thought Sabriel was really good! I cried at the end, when she had to leave her dad behind mecry anyway I'm looking forward to Lirael coming out in sept... pity there'll be another year's wait for Abhorsen! :(

I'm waiting on having enough money for Abhorsen. I admit it, I've started a fanfic for this one too. (Here she goes again, you think!) The last Abhorsen is dying without leaving an heir. It's kind of cool.
Yes, I cried when she left her dad in the reservoir. Poor girl ... becoming one of the most powerful people in the Old Kingdom at eighteen, and losing her father after all she did to find him.

Ohh... there's another thread on this I think....
I love these books! For like two years I watched the shelves for Abhorsen... then when I finally stopped looking, it came out. I love these books.... though the ending is somewhat confusing... at least for me it was... I was reading about three other books at the same time...including the silm...
You're writing a fanfic for these? good idea.... do post do post!

Can I write non-LOTR fanfics there? Cool!
Here's my first bit, tell me if it's worth putting up.
Water and fire.
It had been many years now since the Interregnum, and the heroes of that time were long gone from Life. The Abhorsen was aging and had no heir. The King was young and inexperienced. The Clayr declined in number as their lives shortened. The defenders of the Old Kingdom were weak, and the movers of the Dead had found a way to bind a Living servant.
Mosal was the first such, and so far, the only such, bound by the water of Death and the fire of her master's touch. And by the sixth bell of a necromancer, Saraneth, the Binder. This was the name she was called by once the binding was complete.
But for now, she was Mosal, twelve, and hiding her talent with the Dead from her family. Until the necromancer met her in Death, and made her his own.
 What do you all think? I know I should put that in fanfic, but if I write more I'll put it there, so tell me what you think of this, and don't move it, please.
I should move it, I'm bad, but I guess thirty lashes with a wet noodle will be my penance ... :fanboy: or a slap with a trout ... :trout:
So tell me how it is ... no one else has seen this yet!

That sounds good so far, but we need to read more to really decide... hint hint.... (post more!!!)
don't be nervous about posting your fanfic! thirty lashes with a wet noodle... very good description! lollol
