I have yet to tackle any of his novels, but I've read several of his brilliant short stories. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations of which of his novels would be a good read (well, I'm sure they would all be good reads, but which to start out with).

My favorite is Bluebeard. Also liked Jailbird. If you were unfamiliar with Vonnegut I would recommend Jailbird first because it seems the most "normal" of his books that I have read so far. Doesn't jump around as much as the others. Since you are familiar with him I will recommend Bluebeard.

I've just finished reading Cat's Cradle. It's a great book. I haven't read anything else by Vonnegut, but if his other works are anything like this one, I think Kurt and I might become very good friends... :)

It is a little different in the way it is laid out, but the style of satire is pretty typical. I think you and Kurt will indeed become good friends.
