The Evil Peter Jackson

Judging from the way Peter Jackson changed FOTR and TTT to the point of wrecking them for me, I believe this is what he'll do with ROTK:

It opens with some boring forty minute long Arwen scene with no relevance to the story. After that it cuts to Isengard. Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas and Gimli arrive and find it flooded. Saruman apaologises and then, being the nice guy he is, Gandalf lets him join the fellowship as Boromir's replacement. Meanwhile Gollum changes his mind about trying to kill Frodo, transforms back to Smeagol and becomes an accountant. Then Sauron finds Frodo and after a bloody swordfight Frodo knocks him into Mt. Doom. The hobbits go home and everyone is happy. Cut back to Mt.Doom. Saurons hand bursts out of the lava followed by a screen saying "THE END?"

Gollum, Frodo and Saruman are all at Mount Doom. Saruman is about to kill Frodo and take the Ring. Suddenly:
Gollum: Frodo I... am your father.
Frodo: It cannot be true!
Gollum: Search your heart, you know it to be true!
After a sympathetic moment, Gollum picks up Saruman and throws him into Mount Doom.
Gollum and Frodo: May the Ring be with you!

Probably still at the hands of Grima but in Orthanc rather than in the shire. there is a picture of Grima on the net (I don't have the link to hand) which shows Grima about to get up and stab Saruman and it looks like he is at Isengard but it does seem to be true that there is not going to be a scouring of the shire at the end. Just Sam going home to his daughter.
