Hello everyone,

Inspired by the KoRn thread I dicided to make an Offspring thread. Are there any fans of them in here? PLease post your ideas, comments, favourite song(s), favourite album(s), gossip, news, tour dates, thoughts on lyrics or whatever. Let it begin.

My favourite songs; Amazed, Gotta Get Away, Me & my Old lady, She's got Isuues, Gone Away, The kid's arent allright, and many more.

i love the offspring...want you bad used to be one of my fave offspring songs but hen i learnt it on the bass and it got really annoying! i like million miles away too....i intensely dislike the why don't you get a job one...pretty fly for a white guy was great but that damn song really annoys me!

One of my favorite Bands, but lyrics can be VERY depressing
eg. Gone Away: a lament for a dead loved one...

Yeah BG, I too dislike why don't you get a job'. And BTW, what's your favourite Machine head song? I love 'Message in a bottle' and 'The blood, the sweat,the tears'. Finrod; I think the lyrics are a big part of what makes the Offspring my favo band. I love the way Dexter expresses his feelings. Can't always be nice feelings but I can relate. You should check out the lyrics for Amazed. Damn, I can't wait for them to come to Belgium one day..

is bulldozer a machine head song...i have a compilation and there are a few machine head sounding songs at the end and i get confuzzled!

Hey I won't let this thread die ;) I love the Offspring. I have Americana and Conspiracy of one.

Fav songs: The kids aren't alright, The end of the line, Come out swinging, Special Delivery and Denial Revisited :thumbs:

Bad news from 'The Offspring'

03.18.03 - Ron Welty No Longer A Member Of The Offspring

As of now, Ron Welty is no longer a member of The Offspring. "After more than 15 great years with The Offspring I've decided to leave to devote all my energies on a new project called Steady Ground. I wish Dexter, Noodles and Greg the best of luck moving forward and it's time for me to focus on my own thing," said Ron.
The Offspring have hooked up with their friend Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, The Vandals) to play on the new record which will still be released this year. Dexter says "After being together so long it will be weird doing stuff without Ron, but we are really looking forward to putting this new record out. We wish him the best."

Sad, I really liked what he did for the group, I hope he enjoys his new band. Thx for the stuff you did Ron!!

awww...thats so sad.....will Josh be their permanent drummer or just for the akbum?

Sad news indeed but at least their getting on with it and releasing new material.
