Peter Jackson is using his clout to encourage NZ drivers to set up their organ-donor status.
I find it heartwarming when a person who works in the public eye uses their position to draw attention to causes which benefit others in need. Peter Jackson JUST became famous in my eyes! He used to be a great movie producer, now he's a great man!
There are many other great men and women. Let's use this space to give tribute to the ones that come to mind.

I also think its great when famous people use thewir status to help others. its a sad but true fact that people look up more to celebs (people in general..not everyone) than 'ordinary' people. I am now expected to say something about Bono....and i don't want to dissapoint everyone...so here goes!
Bono is a great man, he chooses to help make a differnece in this world, not simply by donating money, or asking for people to take notice. but by making sure world leaders are aware of problems as well. he is 'affectionately know as 'the pest' in the corridors of the white house' (that phrase has been used so many times it has to be put in inverted commars!) and he is credited with being one of the factors that made the US president put milions aside for aids relief in africa. he also helped with the jubilee campaign in 2000 about relieving world debt. he has been involved in causes almost ever since U2 started out, they wrote a song 'silver and gold' and donated it to the 'artists against apartheid' album (prob not the right spelling) which little steven made for charity....erm...thats about all i can think to say at the moment so i'll shut up! lol

Our thoughts and prayers our with this little girl that needs a liver. And our hats our off to her father and to PJ for the steps they are taking for her.
And your right, it's always kewl to see an actor, director, singer, etc. take up a cause, but when the cause is a simple as a young girl's life, well......that is just special!
