If you really want to do that, it'd cost you a fortune and no great result, but it'd be fun! People might just think you time-slipped from medieval Europe! lol

Hmmm!, as far as I can see, this hasn't got anything much to do with what this section is suposed to be about, I don't really think Orc meant it to be for discussions about the liklihood of getting arrested for carrying a sword around Manattan!

I've moved this thread over here to the armoury section which is more appropriate to it's content.

I was once hired to do a preformance for a large company as part of their annual meeting (they were rolling out a new product line and wanted to use a 'militant' theme). You should have seen the heads turn as me and my buddies were walking through the confrence center armed with two handed claymores and wearing kilts!!!!

A couple of years ago a guy got shot dead by armed police because he was waving a samurai sword around outside his house. :battle: :archer: This was about 2 miles from my house.
So it can be a very dangerous hobby! But this guy also had a history of mental illness, and was wearing pyjamas, so go figure... :jester:
And get this, his mother tried to sue the police for nailing him. :boohoo:
I say fair play to them because by all accounts he was a complete loon and definitely dangerous. Dont know if this is entirely relevant but I've typed it now so I'm going to post it.

Hey, Viggo Mortensen was walking around in half-Aragorn outfit and he was even holding on to his sword after filming. The police nearly had him arrested! lol

There was a dude a few years back who started running around newcastle(in Australia)wearing a makeshift suit of armour made out of grabage bins, just like Ned Kelly, and he was wavering this gun screaming he was imortal, there was like 50 police on the scene in 5 minutes pointing guns at him. In the end they arrested him and found out it was a metal Water Pistol made to look like a gunlol

Sounds like fun! I've always wanted to do something like that, especially around Halloween, but I think it would be better to do that at a less expected date...LOL

If I had armor that resembled something from LotR, I would want to keep it looking nice, not wear it in public where it might get marred.

At the annual Renaissance Festival down here, you can find people wearing all sorts of weaponry. *nods*
It's really cool to see kids carrying LOTR inspired swords and such. :)

My friend collects coke tabs and we're making them into a chain mail outfit for her to wear over there. Maybe not as strong as mithril, but no cardboard sword can't get through this! roflmao

Forget cardboard. I bet even a plastic sword would have a hard time. lol
