I'm not popular in the way that popular has come to mean nowadays. In our class the popular group are a certain group of people who are 'cool' and everyone regards them as being the most popular people in the class...but to be honest they have an awful lot of enemies and arguements so they're not really that popular at all! :huh: lol

I've been form captain three times! That's cool cos people have to vote for you! I try to be friends with a lot of people...it's fun that way cos you get to know loads of people and you don't get in danger of getting sick of one small group of people. :)

Yes I like poplar trees very much. Their leaves sort of look like spades and they are the first tree back when a pond dries up. They have papery bark like a birch.

I am popular with the voices in my head!! I never was famous among the 1800 students who congregated in and around my little Alcatraz (high school) but I do recall being told that I made an impact on more people then I had realized when in my senior year I decided to move away. And to my suprise this was proved to be true and has been verified ever since with the people I meet through out my life. I don't consider myself popular. But alot of people I know, (and I know a lot of people) tell me that their lives wouldn't be the same without me. Now if I take those compliments and consider how that affects me, then I guess I would say, I must be pretty popular. I know my life wouldn't be the same without them, so they must be pretty popular too!! It makes sense to me even if it doesn't to you...so just smile and nod...

no i aint (i moved so it was hard fitting in cause our school is small and there are all these little groups) i have only a couple of friends but they are true. one of my favorite sayings is: Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints on your heart.
I find it really true. besides even if i got a chance to be "one of them" i wouldnt! u wouldnt belive how much we rip on the popular group! lol they prob do the same to us. Last year they desided to give us a name: the nerd herd (alright before i start my rant, if you look up nerd in the dic. it says An overly smart person) anyways that peeied us off so we gave them a name: The Bi*** Patrol (most of them are females and the ones that aint, act like females) what mad me so made was THEY were the ones w/ the good grades (and I mean A students every single bloody one of them) now i am a A student too and so is my best friend, but everyone else in our "group" aint. so go figure.

No c at our school there is like three groups: the people who dont care about theere satis (aka us nerds) , the people who are "popular", and the people who think they are popular (aka the ones out for cheerleading but there heart aint in it, it is just for show) and there are a few oddballs that really do there own thing (ya no what i mean: the girl that if u pay her 20 bucks she will run naked through the school or the kid that will stick a cherrry bomb down his shirt and try to swallow a goldfish at the same time! them people yeah we have some of them!

What I meant was, popularity is all relative to your attitude. If you think your popular you probably are in the since that people know who you are and think you might be cool. But that don't make you cool. Only when you can look past other peoples flaws and insecurities and except them for what they are no matter if they are "cool","popular", "lame", "nerdy", or what. You will never be popular in life.

I just found this thread! I'm not considerably popular at school. I have my friends, but I'd rather not be in that prep and jock crowd. They are... rude to anyone who they aren't friends with. :huh:

I'd like to think I'm considerably popular here though! I've got lots of friends here (online). Anyone who loves LOTR is my friend lol ...sometimes. ;)

It is impossible to be popular in the entire school. There will always be a few people who despise that person... but it could get close, is suppose.

I guess it's quite good if you have a good reputation and everyone likes you.
In my school, I know a lot of people, and I get along with everyone and most of the teachers, but there are those who just pick on me as I've ruined my reputation since I was 11. :(

i was never really friendly with kids when i moved cause i was ****ed at my mom for moving......... i always read and so people labeled me as a stuck-up geek. my teacher didnt like me that year and didnt make the kids be nice to me so all that year i had to put up with the nasty comments i well there loss i am a great friend! lol i have good true friends now, most of witch have moved after i came...

I think that the reputation we have for the rest of our school lives is often determined by what we do in those first few days of Year Seven...who we sit next to...what classes we look interested in...it's amazing to think of who i might hang around with if i had done something different in yr 7...not that i want to change who i am...it's just strange to think about. :huh: :p

Btw, I'm not in the popular clique and there's virtually no reason I want to be. I have all the friends that I can handle (I'm a shy, and quiet person), even too many. All the popular people I know are (this is very... eerm... nicely put ) airheads, who generally (!) fit into the stereotype of "fixing hair and makeup at least six hours a day." Not that the guys wear make-up!

I'm not very popular - I guess I just don't quite fit with the normal pattern that everyone is 'supposed' to follow. I'm the youngest in my year and some people, for reasons known only to themselves, had a problem with that.
Luckily I have some great friends especially a fellow Mad Hobbit who I suddenly made friends with in the Sixth Form on the 1st day despite having barely noticed each other since 1st year.
I am also lucky cos I have some great teachers who don't seem to mind too much when I don't stop giggling all day. (I have been told that I could laugh for England!)

My greatest lack of popularity is with authority figures, deputy heads, senior teachers etc who don't teach me and seem to believe I'm trouble or immature or something. Possibly might have been caused by a run in with the burser on muck up day. I guess I don't fit into the Golden Girl catagory that they seem to like so much, I don't have enough control over my temper and I tend to lose it without a thought of who it is I'm arguing with. Perhaps spending so much time with adults has had a bad effect on me!

Yeah but whats weirder is when a boy you never noticed has an Obsession with you! Cause there is this guy that went to school with me in Darwin (my old hometown) now goes to school with me in my new town (which is on the otherside of Australia) and follows me around, knows every aspect of my life, emails me, rings me and act like we are the best of friends, talks to my mum and yeah did I mention he's real freaky lookin!
