Is Glorfindel the only elf to return to ME?
Did any other elves make to ME after the Fall of Numenor and the Hiding of Valinor?
Rumor has it that Gildor was the son of Finrod??? Any truth to this?

Gildor certainly describes himself as being "of the House of Finrod" I don't know quite what this makes him ... not a son I guess by virtue of the comment: "The sons of Earendil were Elros and Elrond, .... after the fall of Gil-galad the lineage of the High-elven Kings was also in Middle-earth only represented by their descendants".

Good point, now that I think about it, I believe the Professor would have given at least a few sentences of background attention to a son of Finrod.
Do you know of another Elf besides Glorfindel to come to ME after the Flight of the Noldor? I know they came to Numenor to teach and bring gifts but do you remember reading of any making it all the way to Lindon?
(I too devote too much time and attention to ME, it is addictive isn't it)

I don't think that Gildor is the son of Finrod although he is certainly of the House of Finrod. He probably just never left ME after the War of the Wrath. Also, his full name is Gildor Inglorion, implying that he is the son of someone called Inglor. Finally, Finrod's beloved, Almarie, remained in Valinor- they were not married and I don't believe they had children.

O f course, that's his foresight over the vow to Barahir isn't it?

Yeah - that's right! I think he mentions it to Galadriel, but that is all we ever hear about it...
