If anyone has seen The French and the Saunders: The Fellowship of the Ring, they will know that it is Hilarious!!! Well, Ian McKellen wants this on the DVD final trilogy set thingy and is trying to persuade Peter Jackson to let it be on there. VOTE NOW and if enough votes get in, I might e-mail the poll to Ian McKellen and see if it'll help.

Those of us who live in USA and did not get to see it would love to have it on the DVD. I like Ab Fab so I am sure I would have found their parody really funny.

The humour of the F & S in their parodies of films is soooooooo different from the Ab Fab insanity but I definitely think you would love it anyway Lasgalen.
It is hilarious and I would like to see it on the DVD if only because I haven't seen it in a while.
Don't suppose anyone caught their parody of Harry Potter on the Comic Relief thing the other night? Didn;t think it was as good as the FOTR one but it was still quite funny I thought.
Anyway, thumbs up for this one!!!!!

Definitely yes - it should be on the DVD! The FOTR one was hilarious!
I thought it was better than the Harry Potter one they just did, but Jeremy Irons was very good in that

Jeremy Irons is cool! but I'm still annoyed I missed the lotr one. I was sat on holiday thinking 'french and saunders is on now...I bet it's really good!' :(

It was! HEHE!! :wicked:
Have now reconsidered - I think they should do a separate DVD with ALL the French and Saunders specials on it, to raise money for Comic Relief

Luckily I taped their LOTR parody! The non LOTR parts in between were also funny - especially 'Pet Cemetary'.
Has anyone their Star Trek / Court TV one? It was on a very long time ago.

there was a great Alistair McGowan version of HP too - Louis Potter and the Philosopher's Scone
Starring Neil and Christine Hamilton as the Dursleys, Anne Robinson as Ron, and Gary Lineker as Lord Voldemort....

Ha...that's good! What annoyed me is that in America they had to change HP to 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone'....I mean...what? Have they never HEARD of philosophers over there or something?

I think they changed it coz
a) Americans think "Sorceror's" is more exciting
and
b) they wouldn't understand the alchemical reference
(philosopher's stone was actually something the alchemists were looking for - they wanted gold and eternal life, so, naturally, there must be one subtance that can give them both. Of course...)
Which just goes to show that PR/advertising people really don't have a clue... ;)
