the only reason these people read the book as legolas is in it,
if they read the book before the film they would think its sad, they read and think "orlando bloom"verymad do you find it annoying

I like Legolas .He is by far my favorite character but he was my favorite before the movie even came out. I liked him the best in the books too. I think it is because he was a n elf and the elves are my favorite race. I do however at times find it annoying. I mean I am a true blue Legolas fan but some people are just too much.

I love Legolas. He was my favorite character before Orlando was even born (or at the very least he was still pooping his diapers). The only thing I find annoying is how people drool over Legolas because of the way he looks in the movie. Case in point-My friends daughter (9 years old) bought The Two Towers book because Legolas (Orlando) is on the cover. We tried to convince her she should get FotR first but she could not be swayed. I bet she never reads it. Just sits and stares at the cover.

Wow Alatar, do you wanna get killed by all the Orli fanatics out there? I like Orli but I'm not all that crazy abt him, thank your lucky stars. lol I think he looks good actually, just that he always does weird things to his hair. And the moustache wasn't all that great either.
Well back to topic, it might be a little annoying and dense of pple who just keep drooling and getting crazed about the character just because of his/her looks. For me, I actually read the book before the movie. I felt that Legolas was rather cool, but my fave character was Merry. After watching the movie, I just got to like the movie Legolas much more. I mean... doesn't he look so darn hot! :flamer: It's a natural reaction. Just don't join those I love... threads if it irks you. lol
Frankly, fangirls don't annoy me. I'm one myself. lol The really icky ones are mary-sue fanfic writers. (If you are a regular visitor to fanfic websites, you'll know what I mean) Their fanfics include really rubbishy obssessions. *rolls eyes*

Oh, but this is really crazy. I read from somewhere that a grp of fans from Orli's fan club went to watch lotr movie and they shrieked each time he graced the screen and that's really too much. And some of the movie patrons were so fed-up and in the end they went to ask for refund.

If ppl speak their opinions... ok... but if they post pages and pages with them and start yelling at anyone that doesn't share their opinion... I mean... aren't we legfangirlhaters allowed opinions as well? And I won't say Legolas is pretty, because well... he might have been, were he female. But I like his bowfighting and he acts well. Those are things the fangirls don't even look at, they just drool about his looks... disgusting. You'll see most of them hate Christopher Lee as Saruman, because he's not exactly something to drool on, but I think he's very good. Lee is my favorite bad guy ;) As Saruman or Dooku (Star Wars).

yah, i don't mind either... so it doesn't bother me if I let everyone know i love LotR and they think i'm strange! haha i already know i am! lol Actually, a lot of people in my school like LotR, so i don't really have to worry about that, but as far as other people go... there's this kid in my french class who is like seriously obsessed with "Zoids" (havn't a clue what they are... but yah...) so he's always telling us about them, and i'm just like "good for him!" haha i don't make fun of him for liking something that no one else in our school is really into.... That's his opinion :thumbs: And of course, that goes for LotR too... but i like it anyway, so it's just nice to have someone else to talk to... even if they're a Legolas obsesser and i'm not :thumbs:

I think Legolas is a very cool character, but not becasue of his looks (Although those certainly don't hurt). I just think he is an amazing fighter. I wish I could use a longbow and long-knives the way he does! :thumbs:
