YES!!! I love Alison. Do you also like Nickel Creek? (AK produces their albums) They are my favorite. They just won a Grammy for their latest album. If you like Alison, you will like NC. If you ever get the chance to hear them in concert, you must go. They are incredible. :thumbs:

I love Blue Grass! I am so glad somebody else had the courage to post this!! I was scared I would be trouted out of WotR for strange and obsurd obsessions......I love the old time Blue Grass too. But I especially love Allison Krauss. Her gentle voice is magnetic and powerful and so spiritual that it can stop me in my tracks wherever I am. I love to hear her sing with Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill the most. Well Shenandoah too!! Anywhoo..found a friend in me...;)

Okay, Lintefaniel, you are being added to my "buddy" list right now! We bluegrass fans must stick together! :) I totally agree! It took a lot of courage to start a thread about bluegrass, but I totally love it! You must also check out Nickel Creek (especially if you love bluegrass so much. Their first album is a MUST for bluegrass fans). :grin: They are so talented! Bluegrass rocks!!!!!! :gofatty:

I adore Nickel Creek...mostly I have only heard the songs on the radio and Tv though. I want to buy the cd's soon. I'm a big fan of the banjo!! And that little guitar looking instrument (don't know the name but it's got medievil back ground) Celebrian buddy list is alright by me!! ;)

i have never heard any of nickel creeks music..they never play it on the radio and i don't really wanna go out and buy a CD that i might not like :(

lol Great! I think you are referring the madolin (what Chris plays). It's a very high pitched instrument. It's always great to meet a fellow "Creekster" ;)

well at amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com) you can listen to samples of the 1st 5 songs(though not all the cds have that available). i havent heard nickel creek either so ill have to try them out

You should! They are incredible! They write, play, and sing their own stuff. They've been a band since they were kids, and they've been together for thirteen years. Amazing!

Oops! I just realized that I didn't spell "mandolin" correctly, but the previous spelling is correct. And let me tell you that Chris tears that mandolin to pieces! He's incredible!

To those of you who are checking out NC, let us know what you think after you've listend to some of their stuff! :)

Great! I recommend that you get their first album, first (It's self-titled). It's more "bluegrassy" than their new one (although I love their second one, too). It has two of the saddest songs on it I've ever heard! It's wonderful. :thumbs:

Yes, BG is correct, but just so you know, on the front cover, the three of them (Sara, Chris, and Sean) are on a beach with the sunset in the background. It's very orangy (is that a word?) looking. Anyway, just so you know what to look for. Let us know how you like it! :)
