Upon searching for some interesting game elements in my own table top battles I found something of great interest to all those who play Lord of the Rings Table Top Battles. Upon searching through Black Tree Miniatures (www.black-tree-designs.com) I stumbled upon their "Legions of the Realm" section, where after some light looking over realized that each faction was designed directly after the books of JRRT. If you notice the horsemasters of Roan are actually Rohan (complete with the same starndard and coclor scheme!), the men of the west are that of Gondor, the forces of darkness that of Mordor, and so on. If you look at the character pieces you will see the obvious nature of the intention of their design.

I have been painting, playing, and gaming with LotR for a while now, and after finding these more affordable miniatures from another company I am strongly considering getting into these miniatures. True, they are not sculpted after the movie characters at all, but they are too close to ignore. These minis are truly wonderful for role players as well as wargaming, not to mention they are true 25mm (like the warhammer series of Games Workshop), they are larger than the LotR series of GW and easier to paint.

Go to your location (UK, US, AUS ect cetra), then click on the fantasy armies deal links, the part that catches you most is text that has a star around it stating "only (price amount in currency of selsected country here) each!" From there I clicked on the woodelf link (lets face it, ELVES RULE!). After that, on the left hand side of the site, there are three rectangles that have links in them, the first one is the black tree design logo with regional directors and representatives, the second rectangles begins with the link to the home page, then fantasy armies, doctor who, harlequin fantasy, and legions of the realm. Click on the Legions of the Realm, from here you will find the LotR inspired models. I am personally getting the Citadel Guards Regimental pack soon (because they just looked really cool with their sheilds and I would have a nice time painting them.). I strongly also suggest looking at the Fantasy Armies, and Harlequin miniatures links too, really well designed miniatures here that are fairly affordable. They have each faction in LotR in the Legions of the Realm except for a decent High Elf side (though in the Fantasy Army section, you can supplement them).

sorry about that. Also, check out the GW main website for a sneak peak at the new figures for the LotR game, they have really cool characters that were not seen in the movies, but we've read all about them. Tom looks like my favorite so far.

Also, if you're interested IM me at " CrimsonBrine " for those AOL, CS, and AIM users out there. I'm always eager to talk about miniatures, painting, tatics, ideas, and gaming scenerios for fantasy games in general.
