Have you ever had any strange or weird dreams that you've thought had no meaning? Post them here. They can be about anything... (within reason people!;))
I would also like to know if anyone has had a lucid dream... I had one once, but you lose it very quickly and it's very difficult to stay lucid.:( It's really interesting to be able to control your dreams, though.

Top this:

I dreamed I was trapped in the body of a sixty-some year old, cross-dressing Chinese diplomat visiting Washington DC with his wife (who knew I was in her husband's body).
We were going to the National Cathedral, but I was in a velour jogging suit so we stopped at a boutique next to the gift shop of the cathedral and I picked out a nice navy skirt and jacket, matching pumps and purse, and some pearls.
Then we went to the Mass.

I have yet to hear of a weirder dream than that.

uh....... I would say this one tops them all! :o By the way, SG, I am a Psyc major, and was just wondering, have you considered having this dream analyzed? (only kidding ;) )

To be honest, I can't remember what I drempt last night. I know that I did have a dream, but I can't remember what it was about!

I agree, YB. I have found that I can control what I am dreaming, especially if it is a good dream. Does anybody have LOTR themed dreams? I do quite a bit, and I must say that they are my favorites.

I do have this recurring dream where I go inside of a pyramid (in the desert obviously) and once I get inside, the walls start to turn in different directions and it ends with the floor falling out from under me. Odd, huh? Maybe I should have my dream analyzed!

Analysis for my Chinese Diplomat dream?
Don't eat meatball subs with extra peppers and onions right before bed. lol

Yeah I had a LOTR dream last week, Aragorn had dropped something out of his pack in a dangerous place, and I snuck out to retrieve it, after he and Boromir told me it was too dangerous to go. But I found it and put it in my backpack to bring back and the zipper opened on the way back and I lost it - I think it means I'm trying to regain something I feel is out of my control.
Try going here to look up themes and items in your dreams and what they symbolise:

good luck!

lol SindarinGirl great analysis. You could be a professional!
I don't generally have LOTR dreams at all, as much as I want to! A lucid LOTR dream would be awesome!

I had a dream once where I was on a horse, riding in my 'Dark Ages of Camelot' game and there were orcs after me... I ended up slamming my head against a low tree trunk and when I woke up I was rolling down a mountain. I never hit the bottom because it scared me awake.

 I don't see a meaning besides that it was partly LOTR.

I guess since this is my thread I may as well post my own weird dream lol :
I was in my mum's office for some reason, I think it was to sort out some papers lol and this boy came in with a maths book. He put it on the table and then he just stood there. I ignored him but he wouldn't go away, and he started to annoy me so in the end I left and he was still just standing there :p
Weird, huh?
I had no idea what that meant!
My friend had a dream where she got sucked into an escalator lol

I can't remember any of my recent dreams.... I really have some stupid, pointless dreams though. I had one about LOTR back in December of 2002 though, about a week before TTT. In the dream, I went to see TTT with a friend, but somehow he got in the theater a long time before I did, so I missed ten minutes of the movie and refused to sit through it until I could see the whole thing :) I really am that way... I can't stand seeing a movie for the first time and missing parts of it.

What I really hate is when I dream of something so great and then I wake up and realize it's not real mecry Then I go the whole day thinking about it pfbbt

Yikes! Sucked into an escalator! :o I had a dream recently that I was in the kitchen of our old house late at night, and I noticed that the back door was open. When I went to close and lock it, a man with a knife pushed through! That's scary enough, but here's the weird part....the man was Bob Hope. Don't ask me why. I have NO idea. lol

I'm the same way. I refuse to watch something if I've missed the beginning. I also hate it when I have a wonderful dream and realize it's not real, but then I guess there are always new dreams to look forward to. :)

Apparently, if you dream about snakes and/or horses, it means you are fond of male genitalia, and if you dream your teeth are falling out it means you are obsessed by the idea of frequent, vigorous sex. That just what I've heard...;)

Here's a great place to look this stuff up: http://www.dreammoods.com/index.html

Once we were playing a superhero RPG and it went really badly for us, and I ended up dreaming about the battle we'd lost. My boyfriend (at the time) said I was muttering the character's names and then started punching the air and yelling "Pow!" and "Smack!" He said it like watching a Batman re-run! lol

When I was little, I had to recurring dreams. One was that I was trying to escape some boogy. Started out with the regular stuff, running and never getting anywhere, but then I cut loose from the ground an started swim-flying- by myself, not in a plane- and I flew higher and higher 'til I couldn't get down! Half my life I've had the most terrible fright of going by plane, even had to use valium to do it! I cured myself of it when I was pregnant, couldn't eat the stuff then, and discovered that I could do without it!

The second one was realy scary, about me entering a room in my grandmothers house that wasn't supposed to be there. It was filled with roccocco- furniture, mirrors with luxurious golden frames and deep red velvet drapes. One of the drapes was moving, I was very frightened of what was behind it. But the worst thing about that dream was, that when I years later entered the new house of a classmate, there was the exact same room, everything in it just like in my nightmare! I never went up there again, I can assure you!

A fun dream I remember, (I have a lot of those, sometimes wake up laughing and then I don't remember a thing in the morning, just the laughing!), was a classmate ordering electric platform- shoes with net- stockings attached from a catalouge, and they cost 4000 pounds, which another classmate had to pay...he wasn't exactly happy about it!

i once shared a room with a girl who talked in her sleep at an adventure camp thing...every morning we wole up 1/2 hour early to hear her...once she was dreaming about the orienteering we'd done the previous day and was actually moving her legs as if she was runnig!! lol it was brilliant

LOL - I've done that once. Ok, maybe more than once. ;)
When we went to Germany on a school trip, in the morning the boys who'd been in this room of 4 told everyone how one of them had said their history teacher's name in their sleep - how embarassing! He still gets teased for it now :p

I'll check that out, SG! thanks for the link. As for nightmares coming true, I had a dream a couple of years ago right before I was to go back to school after Christmas holidays. I drempt that I was back at school and was to start back to classes at 8:00am. Well, I went to bed and looked at the clock. It said 11:00, then 12:00, then 1:00, then 2:00, and so on... I didn't go to sleep at all! I finally gave up and got up in time to get to my first class....Well the night that I REALLY went back to my dorm I went to bed and watched my clock change for five hours! It was my nightmare coming true! (I did get a few hours of sleep, but not many) It was awful! I've never forgotten it.

Ooh, I get that sometimes, too! It's so freakin' creepy!
Once I dreamed I met a guy at a birthday party for a friend, but in the dream I couldn't see his face, just that he had blond hair and a white t-shirt with some kind of blue crest or design on it. I dreamed we were sitting next to each other on the couch, the host asked for a pillow, I leant over to give it to him, sat back, looked at this guy and then started canoodling with him! I thought "oh, that's too weird" and the dream changed to something else.
2/3 weeks later, I'm at my friend's birthday party and there's a blond guy named Joel there wearing a white t-shirt with a blue crest on it. Didn't think about it, but we ended up sitting next to each other on the couch, the host asked for a pillow, I leant over to give it to him, started to sit back and that triggered the "oh, this is my dream" thought.
I looked at Joel, and started laughing.
Everyone thought I was nuts, but later, while Joel and I were dating I told him why I'd been laughing at the party. I was sure that was some kind of sign about the two of us, but it didn't work out.

i have actually had dreams about teeth falling out, both my teeth and other poeples but they were from my teenage years, maybe it was my hormones that did it but then again i used to do alot of boxing so maybe there was a link there. :)

i think everyone will agree my dreams are on the whole best kept secret but i did have one recently where i was working on the door of a club and my nan walked out with Ash (the man from the corner shop), they both got in seperate cabs and went off and then my mate who i was working with couldn't move a muscle and i got attacked by a gang of short women. it stopped there, analyse it if you like. :)

I had a very strange dream last night:
I was trying to go to this house which was really big but to get there you had to walk on this wooden platform. The platform increased in size when you stepped on it o.0 and for some reason there were mines attached to the bottom of the platform, so you had to be really careful. Then (this is where it gets really weird) a totem pole with an eyeball attached to it rose out of the platform and the eyeball started searching for me (it was actually quite scary!:elfeek: ) To get away you had to roll into a ball down this slope lol but another ball was racing you and you had to beat it to the finish! Weird huh! Totally insane and random! Like me, really.roflmao

Can anyone think what that could mean?

This sounds to me like a cross between LOTR (with the searching eye) and Indiana Jones (the giant ball rolling down the hill). Did you happen to have these movies on the brain before going to bed? ;)

I finally had one......I was watching TTT before bed last night(shhhh!), and had a weird one!

I think I was a dwarf! lol

All I remember is that my ax looked more like a pike, and we were amazed at how sharp the blade was! It had a huge semi-circular blade, and was blackened on the inner circle, but the shapened edge was silver so 4" of the entire blade was silver with the black inside.......

I had a dream the night before last that I remembered because it was about Viggo. I dreamt he was in a nursing home where I was visiting. It had a big swimming pool in the middle that all the old folks were sitting around. But, Viggo wasn't that old - he was there for some health reason. I walked with him around the pool to the other side and he got into a space ship (like a rocket) and blasted off to somewhere - Valinor maybe?

(I hope he is all right in real life!)

-------------------------------------------------------

The most memorable dream I had was so vivid, I thought it was reality. I dreamt that I got out of bed and walked out of the house. I was walking on the street and looked down to realize I was in my PJ's. So I thought to myself that I might be sleepwalking. I stopped the first person on the street that I came to and asked them if I was sleepwalking. I never got an answer because my brain couldn't process it and I woke up.

i have some seriously strange dreams, although alot of them fade from memory quite quick. I think the weirdest was when i dreamt i was on the Titanic, but it had already sunk and somehow it had been resurfaced and was going on another voyage even though it was all rusty and stuff. Anyway, all my friends were on it too, except one. As we were setting off she was on the pier and suddenly decided she wanted to go too, so she jumped in the water to swim to the ship, except she couldnt swim and then the ship started to sink and i dived into the sea to save my friend who couldnt swim. V weird.

thank you very much Catz and SG, i appreciate all this..... honestly. ;) lol

i had another dream last night, me and my gf were driving somewhere, i can't remember where or why but we were really tearing down the motorway and a robin reliant with a woman who looked about 80 was tailing us, after about 5 minutes she started ramming us, both the cars stopped in the middle lane and the old lady got out and got ran over.

my god i have weird dreams. :elfeek:

Bonos-Girl
April 5th,2003, 06:03 PM
erm..surely the robim reliant would probably have become more damaged than your car...and probably would have broken down somehwre on the way...if not it would have fallen over or summat.....

indeed you do have weird dreams B...but it kinda makesd sense.,...you being so weird and all....its be weirder if you had normal dreams...if there is such a thing...

Bawax
April 5th,2003, 07:08 PM
ouch, that was harsh, i'm not weird, i'm a bit of an eccentric in some respects but surely i'm not weird. someone back me up here. *watches the tumbleweed roll through* Hmmph! :)

i'd have expected it to fall over too but it didn't we must have been going at 100-120 mph. very strange.

i just noticed, my dreams tend to have violence in them too, i mentioned 3 dreams in one i get my *** kicked by a gang of women, in the next i get my hand stabbed and the big, lumpy, spotty, thing as SG so acurately put and in the last an OAP gets squished by a transit van. does that give an insight into my personality/pschological state? lol

Celebrían
April 5th,2003, 07:14 PM
lol I personally think that part of the purpose of having dreams is to let our minds "live out" what we can't do in real life... that's just a theory, but I have found it to hold true for me. Freud said that deams are "the royal road to the unconscious". (forgive the Freud quote, but what else would you expect from a psyc major?) ;) lol

Bawax
April 5th,2003, 07:19 PM
so on that basis i want to be violent all the time while i'm conscious? :elfeek:

well i do train as a boxer (amateur) and i do kickboxing so ot could well be right but then again all the violence in my dreams wasn't because of me, it happened to me or to someone else. does that mean i think i deserve a battering of some kind?

my head hurts, i started thinking too much. lol

Celebrían
April 5th,2003, 07:25 PM
Oh gosh! I didn't mean that you want to be violent while awake! :elfeek: Sometimes dreams don't have an explanation, but other times they can... why do I feel like I keep digging my hole deeper and deeper? lol

Bawax
April 5th,2003, 07:32 PM
oh i can assure you i wasn't pointing the finger and asking if you were calling me violent, i'm used to people here being direct to me (take note Bonos-girl, SindarinGirl and Catz :p ), i was just trying to work out what my dreams mean by having violent situations in them.

awwwww B it could be confusion? or are you scared that you're not srong enough (mentally or physically) I mean I'm sure most men are scared of getting their *** kicked by a bunch of women!

Eowyn
April 5th,2003, 09:27 PM
lol just slightly.
I often have very vivid dreams if I've spent a long time doing something during the day. eg. watching films with friends I dream they are there quite literally its worrying actually! I can picture them there but then I realise my eyes are actually looking at my dark room! lol I sleep with my eyes slighty open. Gandalf style

Bawax
April 6th,2003, 09:15 PM
maybe the violence in my dreams is to do with struggles, i wouldn't have said it was me doubting my mental toughness cause i'm pretty certain i don't and i am physically strong.

i'm now trying to work out what sort of a struggle i have going on, i can't think of owt straight off. i think i just have very random dreams.

i had a really weird dream last night (yes B...you were in it...acccounting for most of the weirdness i guess....)...ok...well....we were trying to break a record or summat...i'm not quite sure what the point of it was. but we kinda stood upsidedown in some water but we couldn't let our hands touch the bottom of the sea...we just had to kinda hang there suspended upsidedown.....and there was something about B challenging me to do it on WOTR somewhere and...erm....that is about all i remember.....

I think it's true, while you sleep your body repairs physically and your brain takes care of your mental state. I'm not sure what you are referring to! What I meant about dreams was that it's like the conflict between your id and ego. Frustrations are resolved by letting desires that you have "play out" in the form of dreams, since you can't do them in real life. Did that make sense?

No matter how hard you try, you can never seem to dream about what you want, it's always totally random! lol A way to check if you're dreaming is to think you have a digital watch on and look at it, then look away and look at it again. If the time has changed by a few hours then you are probably dreaming (unless there is something seriously wrong with your watch!) That's how I became lucid once, though it is extremely difficult.

I had an LOTR related dream - I dreamed I was actually given the gift of becoming a sindarin elf by Illuvatar (thanks Illu!), and had to move into these woods that were off limits to humans, except pagans and wiccans.
There was an old stone temple to Adonis - this part comes from Tigana, a book I'm reading by Guy Kay (who edited the Sil with Christopher Tolkein) even though he doesn't actully use Adonis, the story in the book's mythology reminds me of the story of Adonis.
I woke up before anything really interesting happened. Except I did get my pointy ears. Yay! lol

Oh, alright, yeah, I can see how that would make some sense. I sort of think of dreams as mental filters, letting us work out issues while we sleep. Do you remember where you read that? Just curious........ ;)

Okay I had a dream last night (see if you can believe this) that my Jack Russell Terrier got stuck in our garbage disposal! :o It was awful! (I know, a little weird, too lol ) I was trying to get him out but the disposal was on, and he kept spinning around, making it impossible to get him out. I looked over towards the woods and out comes a group of Rivendell elves and Legolas with them! The weird thing was their clothes (Legolas was the only elf that had normal looking clothes). I had a very strange dream the other night:
My neighbor (who happens to be very heavy) was wearing red flip-flops and matching shorts. There are a whole bunch of girls in this new-looking room, carpeted, with a sort of table in the middle. The table is tierd (sp?) like a pyramid and she (my neighbor) gets on the top tier of the table, puts her hands up in the air while looking at her feet, and starts to dance like she's doing the Charlestown (dance from the 20s). Everyone starts laughing and she says to me, "You better not tell anyone!" (which is strange because everyone was in there! lol but i have strange dreams...) and it's about to get weirder: Then this guy from my English class walks in, stops when he sees her and goes, "Woa! What is she doing?" And everyone is still laughing and clapping. Then, he all of a sudden goes, "Just in time for me to play the piano!!!" and runs off to a black piano that happens to be at the end of the table. My neighbor ((who i dont see anymore - in real life - and have never even really been friends with her)), suddenly gets embarrassed, runs out of the room, and the guy is like banging the keys on the piano and can't really play, but everyone is clapping for him. He then pounds out a few chords and stops. When the music dies down, everyone shouts and claps like it's this huge performance! *the end*

And just for the sake of staying on topic, I had a heap of odd dreams last night. I think Heath Ledger (did I spell his last name right?) appeared in one of my dreams, probably because I watched "The Four Feathers" last night. Not a bad movie....

Wales is really pretty, and I would definitely recommend it, it's just that I'm not into the whole mountain-climbing thing lol
Another part of my dream is that there was an incredibly steep hill. At the bottom was a game where you had to throw balls into holes and some meat would come out of a pipe. Then an enormous rabid cow would tear the meat to shreds and eat it. :elfeek: OMG...I'm weirder than I thought.

Sorry for the double post, but the 15 minute time limit passed long ago, and I just had to tell you about this dream......

I really believe this is the worst dream I have ever had in my life. I dreamt that I was inside Iraq for some reason, and I was living inside this complex-type building with other foreigners. Anyway, (just a note, in my dream Saddam was still a very big presence) all of the Iraqis that were being held there decided they were going to sneak out of the country with out telling anyone. So they left the complex, and seconds later (after it had been discovered that they had escaped) a guard walks in with a machine gun and walks directly over to me and shoots me I don't know how many times. When I woke up, I could still feel the places on my chest where the bullets hit me. It may not sound that scary to you, but it was the most real dream I've ever had. It was awful......

I had a strange dream once where I had found this spider at work, and took it home as a pet.

I fed it pretty well and over the weeks it grew and grew and grew; two feet across, red legs and a translucent emerald green body. Not even slightly like the black hairy thing it had started life as. I did not know its gender, so I called it Ashley. It liked having its thorax rubbed. Although it did not make any sounds we seemed to have no trouble communicating to each other and like a more traditional pet it would sense my moods. And if I were grey it would sidle up to me and place its mandibles in my lap and look at me in that doe-eyed manner. It slept at the foot of my bed, and would wake me up in the morning by tickling my feet. Being a responsible owner I was concerned about Ashley's well-being so I started to take it for walks through the town, get it a bit of exercise and the like. Everywhere I went people yelled and ran, or pelted us with impromptu missiles. I really can't see why, I mean, I kept it on a leash and besides it had never attacked a person before. Soppy old thing wouldn't hurt a fly.

The strange thing is that I really *hate* spiders. If I really ever saw a spider that was two feet across I think I'd just keel over on the spot from shock!

Following on from the pet spider dream, I had another dreams about spiders, but this time somewhat less friendly.

I'm laying on my bed, just staring into space when I begin to hear a strange rustling coming from the posters on my walls. I walk over to one of the posters and see strange humps moving to and fro beneath the paper. In curiosity I prod one of the bumps, and it scuttles away to the edge of the poster, and I see long spiders legs poke out from gap between the poster and the wall. I stand back, aghast, as the edges of all my posters seem to sprout spiders legs of many different lengths and girths. Small spiders begin to crawl across the walls and I see new ones come in from underneath the closed door of my room.

I run over to my bed and dive between the covers (this is quite an old dream :-). As the light begins to dim noticably I look across the room to see enourmous, spindly legs, as long as my body, and thick as stout branches, begin to lever the window open and pull themselves in...

I can't remember what happens after :-)

Hmm, I had a strange dream last night...I was walking around a really old house - one of those Victorian type houses and I was wondering around with my mam, I can't remember what happened after that but the next thing I know I'm on my own in a hallway. I start speaking to some woman whose was about 30 or something and she says to me (something along the lines of) don't be scared I'm going to go into you. She starts being sucked inside my body and - by this time I start to wake up a little bit and I can't move at all and I heard this wooshing sound, quite loud and then I woke up...

A few years back, I spent some time as a roofer's labourer. Now I don't have a problem with heights, but up to that point I'd never really had to face them on a regular basis. When I say 'face heights' I mean carrying heavy things up 45 foot ladders, clambering overs rooves, working on top of tower blocks and the like, navigating rickety scaffolds, etc, etc.

Every single night for the first two weeks of the job, *all* I had was dreams about falling. I'd be up on a roof somewhere, and something unseen would begin to push me towards the edge. I'd be powerless to halt myself and I'd go tumbling over the edge. I'd see the ground racing towards be and *BAM*! My whole body would jolt, and I'd wake up with a start.

Or I'd be stepping off at the top of a ladder and I'd fall backwards, or I'd be walking along and my dodgy ankle would give way, making me stagger over the edge, and so on and so forth. The ways that I fell tended to vary, but always with the same end result; seeing the ground get closer, and waking up with a start.

I have to say, I was very glad when I stopped having those dreams! :-)

:o I cannot believe I have only found this thread!! :o

I have been known to have the weirdest dreams! I can think of three LoTR-related ones now...

1) Orlando Bloom came to my appartment. Apparently I knew him - it was a great dream, as you can imagine, but in the same dream I failed an exam.... so... that kind of put me off the Boy Bloom for a while.

2) The only dream I have ever had featuring LoTR characters. Not the actors, mind.

Ok... I know that it featured Legolas, Galadriel, Gil-galad, Pippin and well, myself and a few of my friends. It sounds like an archetypal Mary-Sue fic, doesn't it?? Girls dropping into Middle Earth; First Age Elves mingling with Hobbits; dead Elves mingling with living ones... I dunno... obviously my subconscious puts no store in canon!

I can remember galloping at speed on horseback. Fun. I remember that Legolas was an absolute muppet - really impetuous, and most people were seriously annoyed with him. Especially Pippin, for some reason.

Galadriel was way off. She was small for one thing. I can remember thinking, 'Huh. The books lied - she's tiny!' Seriously, I think Pippin could have taken her...

It's a sickener but I can't really remember Gil-galad's face - he was wearing blue, I know that much!

Anyhoo, after this mad chase on horseback, we got to an inn, the inside of which looked remarkably like the hostel I stayed in, in Barcelona a couple of weeks prior to the dream.

I'm not sure where Pippin, Legolas or Galadriel were staying, but all of my friends (there were about ten of them) were put in one room. One teeny tiny room, into which ten beds had been squeezed. Oh, they did not look happy...

And they looked even less happy when I ended up... well... in Gil-galad's room. I opened the door... 'Hmmmmm. Nice big High-Kingly room. Nice big High-Kingly bed. Nice High King, really.'

And then...

I woke up...

Stupid alarm clock ;)

3) I had this one last week. Orlando Bloom. Again!! He was filming in this large house... Helen Mirren and Michael Gambon were in the dream too, as well as two of my friends. Again, we knew Orlando (but, of course!)

Soooo - I must have an over-active imagination!! lol

I had a dream the day I finished my last final (this was about 2 weeks ago) that I got my grades in the mail and as I opened them I saw that I had failed two of my courses! :o Oh it was awful! I finally did get them, though, and thankfully, I didn't fail. *whew!*

hehehe...btw very cool dreams Lalaith
omg these past few nights have been packed with LOTR related dreams...
3 nights ago i dreamt of a Frodo and Sam ROTK trailer...it was weird..i dont' remember details but i just knew it had something to do with Frodo and Sam being in Shelob's Lair and Mordor

and then last night i dreamt that me with two other friends had to destroy the Ring..but it was not at Mount Doom where the RIng had to be destroyed, but Barad-dur itself.... one of my friends got captured...used himself as bait which was really sad :(
but...it was weird having all those dreams ... i think i must be here too often ;) (or looking at pics and reading too much) hehe

i get up at 6 so its not that different! lol

anyways...its kinda complicated but i'll try and explain....when we all went back to our room she was already in bed and asleep so we just kinda ignored her....at 11pm when a teacher came and turned the light off she woke up and was like 'where am i, what time is it, what time is it?' and stuff...so we told her and it turned out that all she remember is leaving a friends room about a minute away from our our, reaching our room and finding noone in it. somehow, without her knowing it, she had gotten changed and positioned her aragorn and brego toy at the end of her bed. she couldn't remember any dreams or anything either whcih was the most scary thing since she always remembers at least pafrt of her dreams....and her head hurt as if she'd done something to it but couldn't remember doing anything to it at all. in the end we kidnda concluded that she was really exhausted from not sleeping for 48 hours and walked in a half-asleep kinda state into bed and then collapsed or fainted or summat.....it was sooo scary though...

I once had a dream that I was driving with my family through a fish market, and I saw my friend picking up a giant pink fish...then somehow I ended up in a carpeted room with all these DVD covers everywhere, and I had a jar of gummy bears and the lid was made of the same stuff as the gummy bears...
Also, about a few weeks before and after my European History exam, I kept having dreams about historical figures...first, I had a dream that there was an election, and Stalin was one of the candidates. (No one voted for him because he was dead.) Then I had a dream that I went back in time in Germany to the time of the Protestant Reformation, and everyone was talking about Martin Luther...then I had a dream about Catherine the Great and Frederick William IV of Prussia, but that was all I could remember...
My friend once had a dream that her dog was swimming in her toilet. What do you suppose that means? (lol didn't Pippin say that once to Gandalf? roflmao okay it's not that funny, I need to calm down...)

HobbitFriend
May 26th,2003, 04:24 AM
lol a dog swimming in a toilet.... heard of them drinking out of toilets (ew) but actually swimming in one and dreaming about it... it's um... interesting to say the least! lol
((and "what d'you suppose that means" was actually Merry's line ;) :p haha))
I don't know why people have such strange dreams... makes life interesting anyhow! lol I'm like the Queen of strange dreams... or so my friends call me. They always love to hear my dreams. They're always so strange. Some are really nice though :) But to give you an idea of the strange ones: when i was little, i used to have a reacurring dream that someone would chop the ears off of my bunny (it was a stuffed-animal... buster bunny from Tiny Toons) and flush the ears down the toilet and then they'd carry me away crying  Then i once had a dream that my dad tried to kill me... and i constantly have dreams about dogs, except they're always evil in my dreams (i was afraid of dogs for a while after some of the dreams i had).
And then another re-occurring dream I have (even still) is this lake. I'm walking along side it and it's a nice warm, sunny day. The water is so clear and beautiful that i can see right down to the light, clean sand at the bottom. It's really shallow down the end I start at and i notice this girl swimming underwater with this tube sticking out of the water for air (it's not even a snorkle... it's like that white tubing plumbers use!), the girl is out of my site, but i see this small boat come by in the opposite direction of the girl and i think "OMG! The propeller on the boat is going to kill that girl!" and then i keep walking and don't think about it anymore. Then I get to the end of the small lake or w/e it is and it's much deeper and still clear and beautiful and i have this urge to jump in and go swimming! Except, there's this tiny voice inthe back of my head saying "don't go in the water!!!" but i say, hey, there's no harm, the water is so clean and clear! Just one quick dip!... next thing i know, i'm in the middle of the lake, which now is so huge and i'm stuck right in the middle... the sky turns dark and cloudy and the water is VERY GROSS and grey and mirky... i can't see anything underneath the surface of the water! and surrounding me is a whole bunch of rusty, old debris: a hunk of rusting metal here, an old rusty fishhook there... and i'm so scared, and i don't want to touch anything and i have a fear of touching something gross and slimy with my feet. Then my dream ends. Except one time my dad came over... he was rolling his eyes at me as i was screaming and he's all like "what's the matter with you?" he apparently doesn't see all of the debris that is in the water.... he takes me and puts me on the shore. <-- this dream constantly freaks me out... if anyone has any ideas as to what it means.

That is scary.....perhaps you have a fear of making mistakes? (I know most people do, but I mean very big mistakes....) Does that make any sense? Just a theory.......

Hobbitfried your dreams are always stange, but those are some of the strangest ones I have ever heard. And like everyone has said it probably has to do with life. I know you hate making mistakes and are fearful that one little thing could mess up evrything. Believe me I think that dream was showing you thats its okay to take risks and mess up evreyone once in a while, I know I do. Hope I ahve helped.

Lets see a dream I had lately was interesting. I was in Egnlish class and we were talking about who would make a good couple and this kid shavo(not real name lol) said that me and my crush would. But just when me and my crush were going to kiss this other guy, who is always all over girls proclaims his undying love to me and then I don't know what to do. And then this other annoying kid named Jared says pick Greg he is a much better choice than Dan. Atleast he won't forget when its you birthday or something. Then I am left confused and having no idea what to do and everyone is saying pick, pick. and the i wake up.

Just like Galadriel, i have dreams of Greg liking her instead of me. One dream i had was that i found one of Greg's books and it had Galadriel's name written all over it! Oh my!! I've just read all the way through this thread, you guys make my dreams feel almost...well...normal lol

I had a sleepwalking dream once when I younger where I dreamt I got up and rolled all the way down the stairs, all rolled up in my blanket.
When I woke up, I found myself at the bottom of the stairs all wrapped up in my blanket, and not in the least bit hurt. Now that was weird!

I once dreamed about going to some weird fabric store with m mother .. and next thing I knew, I was at school, and it was fourth period. I cornered my best friend and demanded to know whether I'd been there that morning or not ... and I can't remember what she said!\

Then I went with two of my friends (who in reality would not be seen with each other) to the same shop.

That was a weird, disturbing sort of dream. Last night I dreamed about a man with black hair floating in a fishtank ... he was alive, by the way ...he was!
Weird, huh?:wiggle:

hm... strange...

I had a dream last night about my neighbors... :p they're a young couple and have two little kids: about 2 and 4 yrs old. I don't really remember the whole dream, but what i clearly remember is them, a jeep, feeling afraid about something, and a dark sky... hm...

I've had so many insane dreams its not even funny. Just last week I had a dream that I was an undercover spy and Cap. Jack Sparrow from PotC was my partner (hehe) and we had to fight these samurai's. And the island was gonna blow up, and some poor kid had his tongue cut off (PotC).... Very very weird.

I dreamed the other day that I was stuck in the elevator with one of my best friends at Spirit Camp. There was also this cute boy in the elevator that I have a crush on. It seemed that their was a bomb in the building so thats why the elevator stopped. We all did get out safely and I ended up dating the guy. It was all really scary but exciting at the same time. It was really weird.

ooo hey, i'd like to get stuck in an elevator with my crush!! :naughty: lol Unfortunately, I never have any good dreams like that  My dreams are always strange and make no sense!

Once, i had a dream that I was with the guy I like... it was dark out and we were trying to sneak into some hotel like spies. And our disguises? HE was wearing a dress, lipstick, and scarf on his head :o and I was wearing a guy's suit and top hat! :o And we were there like that because I was in a phone booth talking to someone creapy who told me to open the wrapper on my candy bar, and to follow the directions written in the chocolate! :p Sure..... I think i have THE strangest dreams here!

I had this really weird dream the other night, in which I was walking along this seaside cliff, and suddenly Merry and Pippin are running towards me. I'm really excited, of course, but all I can think to say is, 'Hey! You're Frodo's cousins, aren't you?' Merry says, 'Of course! Didn't you know that?' Then I look over the edge to the sea, and there's these cows walking around in the shallow water.

A few weeks ago, I had a dream that a ferret was attacking me... :hmppf:

I actually had a really cool dream the other night...I dreamed that I went to a brand new theatre (it's in the works, but not yet built, although in my dream it was already built) anyways...really cool theatre, and when I got inside, a trailer for RotK started playing! And the best part was...it wasn't like it was on the screen..it was like 3-D...It was so real! I can still remember it. Great dream...;)

About a week ago, I had this dream that I had a hamster, and I was trying really hard to take really good care of it, because the last hamster I owned died and I felt sooooooo bad. (that part is real- I really did have a hamster when I was like 12 and he died- poor Elvis! *sniffle!*) In the dream I remember that I was going to be late to work, but I just had to clean out the hamster's cage. I was late to work, but I got it done.

Before I went to bed that night, I was catching up with an old friend of mine, and we ended up talking about this messed up situation between myself and a few other of my friends that happened a while back, and I feel really bad about it cuz it's aaaaaaaalll my fault. I was telling my friend how I'm going to see these people again soon and of late I've been really nervous about it and wondering whatever I can say that will make things all right between us.

The dream about the hamster is a symbol of my determination to right my wrongs and make up for my past mistakes. Since dreams are a combination of your brain running through recent memories and old ones, I get to dream about hamsters. lol

Freaky, huh? (doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo *Twilight Zone Theme Music plays) Put that one together myself! :)

Last night I had this dream that I was in a very high floor in an apartment building, and there were...hundreds of Uruk-Hai down on the ground, and they were trying to attack us by climbing up the fire escape. I was freaked out, of course, so I threw these little match-like things at them, and they exploded like little fireworks. But that didn't help much, and when they finally reached the top I suddenly had a sword. I got lots of them pretty good! Anyway, I'll spare you the gory, graphic details of the fight, but by the end these people that were in the apartment with me [I never met them before] and I had killed the entire army. It was bloody cool!

I spent the whole night thinking I don't want to eat that spider in my sleep its big! :o mecry needless to say I didn't get much sleep at all!

was you hungry the next day? cause if you were'nt then i'm thinking that spider met its maker in the night. ;)

i had a dream last night, i was at work but not doing anything and for some reason i had to find a girl i know but i had to do it with someone who i used to go to school with and because he was annoying me i pushed him off a flyover and he got hit by a large yellow lorry. strange thing is i actually like the person i "killed" so i can't make sense of it.

Perhaps killing him in your dream is a symbol of your want to change something about him in real life. That's my best guess...

I had a a really cool one the other night about living in this giant barn-style house with a ton of other people, and it got, like, invaded. One of the "invaders" looked at two good friends of mine and said, "What is the house of Eorl but a thatched barn where brigands drink in the reek and their brats roll on the floor with the dogs?" Then I got stabbed in the back of the knee with a butter knife when I was walking up some stairs...it was a really cool dream, if you can believe it.

I had a weird one a couple of nights ago - actually all mine are really weird but anyway, I was in my room and I saw my Gerbil walking around on my bed, I went and picked her up and when I look into my hands I'm holding a baby Crocodile. I take it to the front door, walk outside into the front garden and put the Croc behind the white metal fence we have. I went back inside then turn around to see where the Croc went and I see it coming towards me, I go to close the door and when I looked down again there's three cats. One tabby, I can't remember the colour of the other one then the third is this really tiny, small than a Chihuahua, black cat wit a long tail - then I woke up.

I was hungry! anyway it turned up on the landing a couple of days later.... I think it's still in the house! :o

B could it be that you feel that in order to complete some task you have to hurt someone you care about? sometimes dreams show those feelings in extreme circumstances....at least I hope you don't feel you have to kill people! :o

Tiri how is that a cool dream? you were stabbed in the back of the knee! ouch!!! and why a butter knife?

Ranger thats a lot of animals! I would guess that your dream would have more significance if you looked at your feelings towards each animal. were you scared of the croc? or creeped out by the kittens? if so why? allergies to animal fur or a bad memory of that animal? or were you watching animal documentaries late into the night? ;)

It was cool in the fact that I remember it so vividly. Seriously, it was "shot" like a movie, with different camera techniques and angles and stuff, and it really appealed to me. Plus, the thing with the Saruman quote...I got such a kick out of it.
