View Full Version : Hopes for a LOTR PC strategy game!

I would love if they made a strategy game for the computer. Those are most likely my favorite type of game. Preferably, I would like it to be powered by the Age of Kings engine. The Star Wars one was and it is excellent. I am hoping for the best. Anyone else think that would be cool?

Yeah, a LOTR Realtime Strategy game would be awesome. Middle Earth is full of all the elements that make a good fantasy RTS. In fact, wasn't a lot of Warcraft(Orcs, Troll Axethrowers, Elven Archers upgradeable to Rangers, Ogres, etc.) based on LOTR lore? If Ensemble Studios (AoK) and Blizzard (Warcraft, Starcraft) collaborated on this type of game, it would blow the gaming world apart! Sweet! Now I want it and it doesn't even exist! . . . yet

I'd love an RPG PC lotr game! cuz sad to say, I don't have playstation :(

A LOTR MMORPG would be awesome. Just think of the scale! I think it would be brilliant, maybe you could choose to be one of the Fellowship members, or start off as a humble citizen or something. And all the different races to choose from! I think that is a great idea. Something like Dungeon Siege but with more depth and a less linear path would be nice if a MMORPG isn't possible.

There is a strategy game being made. It is called War of the Ring, and is scheduled for release in 2004. I posted a thread here (http://www.warofthering.net/forums/vbulletin225/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3268) .

I recently bought an rpg called 'The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring'. the cover has the pic of the ring on it and says the game is the official game based on Tolkien's work. Brand is 'Black Label Games' I think. Wonder if it's any good.

Nah. I didn't like it. But, hey the EA's LOTR:ROTK is coming out this fall!

I like EA productions. The Sims were produced by EA too :thumbs:

Nope, the two games are completely different so it won't be like your playing the same thing. I'm addicted to The Sims :p
When you were playing The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, did you find it slow at all?
