Banners

ok, I looked around in some of the threads and didnt see this anywhere so here goes: Is there anyway we can use banners in our sigs? or any picrtures at all? A small one, I dont mean one that will take up the whole page. Maybe a button? I dunno maybe its just me that wants one, cuz I use them at other boards

Well, Nessa....

One of the reasons that we decided against banners, images, and even smilies in the signature area, was actually the apearance of some of the other boards around the net that do so.

We would rather that the focus of the threads themselves be of the discussions at hand, and also from an asthetic point of view we feel that cleaner is better. One of our main concerns during desing and development was appearance. We are keen on maintaining an environment that is not only readable but pleasing to the eyes.

Along those lines, we have even had need to restrict the amount of lines that can be contained within a signature as by themselves they can get huge and take up a 1/4 page.

Then there is always the resource issue to contend with. As you can see, we are already pretty image intensive. The more images you have the more resources it takes. Our main goal here is to maintain the site's performance so that page loading is not an issue.

I hope this answers your question as to why we don't plan to allow images of any sort in the signature area.
