I saw an article saying that the UK might get the EE DVD in August! :o (As I'm sure you all know, they are getting the theatrical version in June) Why would the UK get it months before other places?

That would be nice, but I think that there would be a larger gap between the two.

I'm really looking forward to the TTT SE DVD, it should be awesome. I don't think it will be as good as the FoTR one, mind, but that's just me lol It's obvious why! I hope you enjoyed the FoTR SE Alatar. I thought it was awesome. I hope the DVD does come out in June - that way I can get it for my birthday!

Yeah, I know, I can't wait to see the "real" version of TTT! :D

I think it will help with a lot of things that I didn't like provided they make good decisions about what to restore. I hope they put Elrond's conversation with Galadriel back in, because I thought chopped down galadriel naration just didn't work. I hear that Saruman's narration at the beginning was also a chopped-up version of him giving Grima a tour of the Caverns... Plus, the pacing in the beginning seemed too rushed, like there was supposed to be more material to space it out... all in all, I think TTT *really* got butchered when they tried to make it three hours, even more so than FotR did, so hopefully the extended cut will help things immensely!

As for the release date... I don't think New Line's announced anything yet, and I wouldn't trust information from other sources. A lot of retailers like to make up dates for products they know will be coming out just to get customers to know about them. Though if the UK gets the extended cut in August and the US gets it in November... I'm going to be really really mad for about a day, then I'm going to go in search of a multi-region player. ^___^

Plus, the sooner the better, since I don't think I'll be getting both DVDs this year... with FotR I thought I might watch the theatrical cut still, but I don't think I've touched that DVD since I got the extended one...

How do you know if a DVD player is "multi-region"? Does it say so on the box? And I hope those dates are wrong, Orkybash (the June date is correct, but the August date is a "maybe" )

Anyway... I can't wait for it to come out! :whoohoo:

it should say somewhere either on the player or on the packaging....

most modern DVD players are multi-region but sa lot of the older ones aren't.

Oh really? Maybe mine's okay....I got it for Christmas uh, let's see...three years ago, or maybe it was two.... I'll take a closer look at mine to see if I can see anything about it being a "multi-region" player.

you could always try and borror a DVD froma friend which is a different region to your DVDs and see if it plays..or search for the model of DVD player on the web and see if it says anything about it being multi-region.

In my case, I'd only know if the DVD has a multi region when I play it on my DVD player...
