Anyone seen the new movie "Reign of Fire"?
I walked into the theatre about 30 minutes late and unfortunately missed the introduction. What I did see though were some great special effects and the action sequences were magnificient. My favorite, I believe, was the skydiving dragon-slayers ... hehehe.
Please post your reviews here ... let me know what I missed! :naughty:

I haven't seen it, but I really want to. I love dragons, although they're apparently being killed in this particular film. Is it all action or is there some good plot? I like interesting story lines to go along with freebasing special effects.

Well as for Reign of Fire....
Here's a review that I saw....http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Movies/07/12/ca.s02.review.reign.ap/index.html
They've pretty much trashed it! But it does cover quite a bit about what goes on.
What do you think there Algee? Where they on or off with this review?

*sighs*......why is it that were a day ahead of the world in time....and months behind for everything else?
ahhh well Illu......if it has dragons in it, its par for the course that it get critically trashed, but yeah Algy, id be interested to hear if you agree/disagree with that review....

i haven't seen it, and i don't particularly plan on it....to me it looks kinda stupid (no offense to those who liked it) i might rent it when it comes out on video or ppv...i might see it if it wasn't supposed to be in modern days, as opposed to like "castle times" (I.E. Dragonheart, etc...)

well, as i told Illu a while ago...that review can go ahead and take a jump off of the bridge without bothering to recheck its bungee bindings.
unfortunately have yet to see this, tho shall be seen before the weekend. McCounaghey (not bothering to look up his name) and Bale have become my favorite actors in Hollywood and to see them paired in such an unusual collaboration makes me giggle. see...lol...one just has to realise that Reign is not the action movie that the trailers are making it out to be. understand that, and u can enjoy the movie.
as i hope i can

mmm it certainly is an interesting pairing...and they are two of my favourite actors anyway....but your commemts Ronin, just illustrate the major problem with promoting fantasy movies...they just dont fit into the neat little advertising niches, and tend to get shoehorned into a catagory that may not be suitable...how many fantasy movies have been billed as action?....or horror?
you'll have to let me know what its like.....it should be opening here in about a month....or so...... ;)

To continue ...
I went and saw the movie again ... hehe.
Well, like I said ... I missed the first 30 minutes of it! How could I submit a review on the review without seeing the whole thing?
I would just like to say that CNN got it right ... if you are going to this movie for a good story, ahem ... you should probably stay home and watch something with Brad Pitt in it ... hehe.
The dragons are KEWL though. The way they move, the fire-breathing, WOW! I went to this movie expecting more visual effects and less story. So for me ... it fit. If you're expectations are anything other than mine ... forget it ... you will be disappointed (but you will still agree that the dragons are KEWL!) :P

I saw the trailer for this earlier this week and it does look very good but I don't know if it is worth going to see.
