Signature

Hello dear Board Founders,

I would like it if you'd put this suggestion under consideration, I think that the member's signature should be 5 lines long instead of four lines...that way we'd have more space and freedom within choosing what we want to write down.

Hmm... I'd have to say that i do have problems of squeezing my siggy into 4 lines sometimes too. lol
But 5 lines might be a bit too long. Just imagine, if everyone on a certain forum page has 5 full lines in their siggy, you'll just see entire chunks of words under every post. And it'll also allow more variations in length of siggy since there is a higher maximum. Some prefer 1 only, some, the more, the better... in the end the whole forum will look quite messy.
And if 5 lines are allowed, in the future, it might lead to requests for 6 lines, then 7 lines, 8 lines... :o
Anyway, I believe the main idea of forums is for discussions, rather than on emphasis of siggies.
No offence meant, just my views. In the end, the decision lies on our dear forum leaders. But I'm sure you've voiced out the views of many members who tend to exceed their 4 line limit. lol :thumbs:

im sure weve all been on forums where there was more sig per page than posts. Here we WANT to hear what you have to say, not just have page after page of sigs. Sides, if you have more things you want to put ino your sig, you can always rotate them

i shoved my 'i won mad blab' into my location cos i couldn't fit it in my sig! lol..although...my location wasn't as long as some peoples its now getting rather long..myabe i should delete some of it....nevermind...back to sig length!

anyways..i have been on numerous forums where they allowed unlimited length sigs. i am actually an offender on one forum i guess...but mine is shorter than one of the admins so they can't kill me for it! lol

Nuh Uh.......not sure about your display...maybe your using 800x640, but on my screen (1024x768) which is what the site was designed for, Win is just fine as her sig is displaying 4 lines total. lol

And then there are sigs like mine where we say more then one thing in a line.. That also helps to cut down on space used...:thumbs:

Okay, you guys have persuaded me into it, 4 lines IS a good decision :grin: I was a tad new to the board and was used to having a bit more than 4 lines, even though I never got my siggy to be longer than 4, maybe about 3...or was it 2? lol lol lol

I'm using my sch comp now, display 600x800, haha, it feels weird, luvara looks as if she's got 5 lines in her siggy lol lol

Well I changed out my Lembas line to support the need for Donations & Subscribers.. Eventually tho I hope to be able to change it back to the Lembas Commercial...:thumbs:

Yep they do, you should have seen mine when I was all for Legolas.. Actually it just had an often changed Lagolas quote in it.. But now it's got stuff for Orlando, and Glorfindel....:thumbs:

Initially, mine was Enya's May it Be. then it became Sam's inspirational speech, but that was too common so later it became all Legolas! Orli's army, Leggy clone, Leggy quote... But now, as you can see it's Leggy quote and Hobbit worshipper. Used to have Leggy, Sam, Frodo, Pip and Merry MELI clones and Elladan and Elrohir, and an advert for the fanfic site, but I took them away to put the wotr subscription support thing, cuz I figured, no wotr, ultimately, no MELI clones and Fanfic site!

I think the signatures sometimes overrun the discussions...some are just way too long and that is the first thing my eyes see, unless someone just keeps writing on and on and on....some of these signatures are huge! too much to read for folks like me...

I think you can stop it now. There are links around for pple to click to know more about subscription, and besides, the silver rings next to avatars always leads to enquiries, and ultimately, discussions of subscription. So I think no harm reverting back to Orli's Lembas commercial. ;)
