I know how they made some major changes in the battle for Helms Deep. Like how Eomer was already there fighting during the night and how there were alot more then just 300 men at Helms deep more like over a thousand. This is how I think they should have done HD in the film. Theoden retreats to HD with about 1200 men from Edoras, when they get to HD they meet up with about 500 more men all ready there. Then the the battles begins and all the forces clash together. Theoden is set up at the top of the Hornburg and Aragorn is on top of the Deepin wall with Archers and spearmen, Eomers forces are behind, below the wall. After the wall is breached Eomer call to retreat to the Hornburg with Aragorn. As the battle draws near to an end there are about 500 men left with about 4000 Uruk Hai left. Then finally Gandalf returns with the 2000 riders to finish off the last of the Uruk Hai. But I also kinda like the fact how the elfs came, I know it's not in the book but it's just cool to see them fight so maybe just not have quit so many come just the ones on the upper wall and thats it. I think that If that was the way they did it I think it would have been more cool.

Well, I haven't voted, yet, becasue I'm still thinking about it....I would say I have a mixed view. I thought the olympic torch-bearer was a bit silly, and Legolas really should have brought him down. A few scenes after this Legolas is shield surfing down the stairs, shooting off arrows like there's no tomorrow. That didn't really make sense to me. That's one thing I wasn't so crazy about.

I also thought it was a bit unbelievable that the Uruks would retreat at the end. I mean compared to the forces of HD, the Uruks could have wiped them off the map...so I would agree, I guess about there being more of the forces of good. So how should I vote?

Well thats up to you it's your vote. But thats true at the end all the uruks should not have retreated, they should just have all died instead, that would have been a much better ending. But wait maybe in rotk Eomer leds some riders to kill the rest of them off so we will see. Also the dumb seen with lego sufing should been cut out it was not needed.

Wait, let me clarify about that shield-surfing scene....I liked that scene. I thought it was sooo stinkin' cool. What I meant was that he is shooting an arrow a second (maybe more) as he goes down those stairs, but right before this, he can only shoot off two arrows? That is what I didn't understand.

I was unhappy that the huorns were not there, however that does not matter too much, since they are going to be in the extended version.

Well the reason they wern't in TTT is becuase they would of needed time to explain them and scenes to explain why they were going (like gandalf going there and asking TreeBeard) and PJ couldn't fit every detail and event into the movie and he had to think of the WHOLE! audience not just Tolkein fans. In any case i think the movie was fine the way was, extremerly enjoyable with stunning Special Effects:thumbs:

I thought it was excellent, possibly the best battle ever captured on screen, imo

Well, I thought the battle was brilliant, but I was uncomfortable with the elves being there, although they didnt exactly ruin it.

But I really missed the Huorns, they really ought to have been included IMO
