Which is better? The bow that Legolas has originally, (Known as the Mirkwood bow) or the bow that he received at Lothlorien?

The linkes don't work, but I already saw oth bows so I can make a judgement: I think the black mirkwoodbow is cool, but with the disadvantage that it's quite small. If I were to take one of these bows it would be the bow of the Galadrim. It's elven signs are cool and it has more detail then the Mirkwood one and it's bigger and that makes him more beautiful to me. Which bow do you prefer yourself, Winyaél (beautiful avatar by the way. lovely :) )

Depends on what you use it for, in close quarters such as a forest, I would prefer a smaller bow that wouldn't get tangled in everything and doesn't encumber my mobility, but in a large battle situation, give me a big powerful bow that can shoot farther than the people shooting at me

That's horribly weird... But since most of you would know how they look like, I think I don't have to post up the links again. If you need 'em, just tell me.
For me, I'd prefer the lorien bow. Firstly, it's got a lovely pattern on it. Secondly, and more importantly, as the book says, 'a bow such as the Galadhrim used, longer and stouter than the bows of Mirkwood...', according to the physics point of view, a longer and stouter bow would mean further distance for the shooting of arrows with the same amount of force applied as compared to a smaller one, and naturally, that'll be more useful for battle in open spaces, as you guys have said.
Of course, smaller bows also mean easier wielding and easier movement on the part of the user...
In any case, I still prefer the Lorien Bow. :) I just think it looks cooler.
By the way, if anyone's seen the news on the main page, it says the bow is on sale somewhere, but what version? Lorien or Mirkwood?
(Thanks, Eorl, for admiring my avatar. It's an artwork of Jonathan Earl Bowser's)

That's a good painter  ! (Totally of topic question: how do you change avatars? I found a really cool one which I would like to use) Back to topic: I like the bow of the Galadrim better, becouse it's more beautiful with elevensigns and all but I prefer it most becouse it's larger and I like larger bows. Once on vacation I followed a few lessons in archery and we had big bows: it reached my nose when I held it in front of my and it was longer then my little brother, but still you could shoot quite easily and aiming wasn't that hard eventhough it's lenght (I bullseyed the board 5 times on my first lesson! ) Since then I'm quite fond of Legolas and large bows. So I prefer the bow of the Galadrim.

Aye I've only tried Archery once. The bow was so big and heavy I nearly dropped it. Wouldn't say I was actually doing the archery myself. The guy who did the demo just slapped those wrist guard things on my hand, put the bow and arrow in my hands and pushed me in the right direction, helped me position my hands and then told me to just release the arrow... lol Naturally, I had bulls eye, but it wasn't my effort then... lol I still wished I had a photo of myself taken then... lol
One more thing, Eorl, you can also have a custom avatar if you have 20000 posts and above ;)

So much posts! :o Well I guess I gotta keep on postin then lol I tried archery 2 times. The first time we were practising shooting on the boards and it went great. The second time we were shooting ballons and it didn't went that well, (only shot four) but those guys said I had a good aim after the first training so I feel half-elf allready :archer: I think I'm gonna join an archery club when I'm older. Anyway, I like te bow of the Galadrim better: more linage, bigger and more detailed and beautiful.
