Should there be a Non-LOTR Role Play section?

We're just collecting opinions right now, nothing is concrete.

Personally, I believe a separate RPG thread isn't that important.

I've been considering starting a few non-LOTR RPG's at this forum for quite some time, and although it might be beneficial to post non-LOTR related roleplaying games at a different section, posting them here would still work just as good.

So, I don't really care if a new RPG forum is created or not, yet if a new roleplaying section is started, I would most definately post there.

Well, as I said before in the staff forum, I think a separate sub-cathegory is quite unneccessary, since this is afterall an lotr site and if pple want to do rpgs for other series, I think most of them would prefer to do it somewhere else.

BUT I also feel that if non-rpg threads are posted here, it'll be quite chaotic and messy. I'd personally prefer a new non-lotr play sub forum to be set up, rather than have threads for non-lotr related rpg here. No harm setting one up, if Illu allows it, just that it might not be used that often, that's all...

I voted no, for I have seen this on other sites and it seems they start to "expand" into non-Tolkien areas and it dilutes the core interest of the site. Just my opinion.

I agree, this site IS based on LOTR and Middle-Earth, I really don't think it should change.

well....i dibn't see why the RP forum dshould be the only forum that doesn't have non-lotr stuff (apart from the book/movie lotr forums of course! lol). if the trading card game and stuff can all be non-tolkien...

The reason we're asking is because I have been contacted about Non-LOTR RPGs, and Fir and I don't really want to clutter up this forum with Non-LOTR stuff.

I think that indeed there should be a non-LOTR RP section, as many of us are inspired by Tolkien , but would like very much to use different aspects of the fantasy genre which are not included in Tolkien's works.

I think if you allow non-LotR rpgs in, then ground rules should be set. Otherwise, you may end up with 5 Harry Potter threads, 4 Matrix threads, etc., etc.... That's just what happened on other sites I've seen. The rpg corner becomes over-run with non-LotR threads.

I think a Non-LotR rpg would be a great idea while you guys are at it could u look in to putting a OoC forum because it gets kinda mixing in the rpgs with the OoC ones and the real ones but it's just a thought;)

When you create a RP you create a seperate OOC thread.

I've been to several message boards (much larger ones, I might add) that do the same thing. OOC and RP threads are in the same forum.

No, I don't think we should have one at all. The reason being this is a LotR site, not sailormoon, Dragonlance or Wheell of Time forum. It's not important. People like myself joined this site for LotR purposes, not any other.

Honestly I don't think we need another RPG if you wanna do another type of RPG find a site that has the one your looking for.

I supose things should be kept lotr related, but i think it would be cool to have a rp forum for other things. It's hard to decide.
