I've heard around on different forums and sites that the Return of the King domestic release date will be moved. For many people, including myself, this messes up our plans and plainly angers fans, making them wait even longer for the final film of the trilogy. I found this article on TheOneRing.Net a while ago (April 1st to be exact ;) ). This is the article: http://www.theonering.net/staticnews/1049229702.html
But after reading it, be sure to Scroll Down all the way to the bottom and click on the link that says, "Click here for reactions from TheOneRing.Net staff." ... Nasssty peoples they tricks usss! :p Hopefully that was the start of the rumor and that they will keep the general release date: December 17, 2003
So, what are your reactions/comments on this article and rumor?

Well nice joke if we judge by the people caught in it ;)
and there was a thread on the article
I don't think there's any other source of this rumour.

nope those were for an april fool from torn.... they said it was going to be released later (mid May)
There are many rumours, but I believe the date will stay the same anyway (:

no, it wasnt an April Fool
it was a positive suggestion!
many movies are reconsidering moving their release dates, to get maximum exposure to their movies to the Oscar judges... its a definate possibilty. I think the only thing stoppping PJ is the actual timescale problem of completing ROTK any earlier!

its all laid out about it here!
If New Line Cinema is therefore unable to screen its third "Lord of the Rings" film several weeks before its planned Dec. 17 debut, the film could miss out on early awards attention and suffer from the stampede of Christmas films. Last year's second "Lord of the Rings" installment, "The Two Towers," was shown to critics and other awards voters starting the first week of December. The studio is now planning to show the third film beginning in mid-November, says New Line marketing chief Russell Schwartz.
YEAH, it would be wierd if he did bring it forward.... even tho its a Christmas release date, it would be odd if the last in the trilogy was released at a diff time to the others :(

well, i've been here since the site opened, and because of school and all, i don't keep up with all the new threads and stuff, so it can be pretty hard to find the different threads and such. :) But i'm sure you'll be fine ;) Everyone is very nice and welcoming... we'll help you settle in this community and find your way around
