Well Melkor I have to agree. I have always been a galadriel fan. Smart, beautiful and full of fire. What a woman and very athletic in her younger days according to Tolkien.

I think Cate made the best of the bad filming for this scene. She is thinking man's crumpet ...........as they say!

Cate does look more Elvish to me....and Galadriel was golden haired in the books....in fact originally in the early drafts she had silver hair like Celeborn...
Arwen did have dark hair in the book...and indeed liv does have a dark wig....but that to me does not an Elf make...
Cate has a sense of depths to her....and that self contained grace that is for me very elvish...you can truely imagine this woman defying the Valar, watching ages of the world come and go.....

Tolkien isn't exactly a equality-for-the-sexes guy thats for sure! But he records their heroicness very much indeed, maybe because he was afraid that his wife'd kill him!!

I have no idea what colour my hair is but I believe is Dark Brown and I've been referred to actually look like Eowyn in that horse pic once, although I don't see much of any resemblance at all...

I'd still throw my lot in with Eowyn and Galadriel any day though!;)

If you wanna know what sort of colour the actor's hair really are, look at their eyebrows....I'm serious!! Look at Legolas's eyebrows.!! Some of the actors that uses fake eyebrows (most possibly Gandalf) of course cannot really be found out, but the other actors and actresses, yes... And this is quite true!

well Tary for a start this thread is about Galadriel.....but. most of us dont "hate" Arwen or Liv (DOWN Pil.....)we just think she was perhaps miscast...i myself think that if they were going to go for a physical character they should have gotten an actress who could handle the physical stuff, rather than have to work around Livs shortcomings....
Ahh but Chibi, some blondes have naturally dark eyebrows, specially if they have dark eyes;)
i just love the sense of containment in Cates Galadriel and i cant wait for the extended DVD to see the gift giving scene....i think that will roud out the character more fully...
